story time:

a bunch of months ago, some friend arguably kidnapped me. "i want to see ducks. you and i are going to this park to see ducks, tomorrow."

and so, i bought a lettuce. because why not.

now, the lake in which the ducks were located has a restaurant at about ten meters of distance, and said restaurant is used to dropping all bread excess in the lake. so between that and the old ppl, the ducks were more than used to eating bread. sad, but nothing i could do... other than offering lettuce

they ran away from my lettuce tho

at some point, i gave the lettuce to the friend, and said friend offered lettuce to the ducks. and they loved it. but if i offered them lettuce [brief clarification: "offer" here means "we put the lettuce in the water and distance ourselves from the place"] they would just like... get offended? for sure they didnt look at it with good eyes

anyway, since life has proved me wrong, at least partly, i will be telling ppl to give them peas from now on, with hopes that less ducks reject me so badly in the future, since peas is another safe food to give them apparently

now, with that said, i will be taking this reverse bait
