This is a shitty recipe. The actual recipe is one glass bottle with a narrow mouthed opening, filled with styrofoam and gasoline in equal parts(don't breathe this) and you stopper the neck so that it is SEALED. Then you tie the rag/cloth/whatever to the SIDE of the neck and soak it with something flammable. Doing it the way in the above recipe results in a nice arc of flaming liquid that rains down on you and your friends. Doing it the way it is written here is gluten free and serves about twelve.
