“연구자들에 따르면 서로 별로 중요하지 않은 것에 대해서도 자주 불만을 이야기하는 사람들은 부부관계가 오래 지속되었다. 반대로 (...) 심각한 문제에 한해서만 불만을 이야기하는 부부들은 이혼할 확률이 매우 높았다.”

불평의 장점은 분노의 감정이 쌓이는 것을 막아준다는 게 과학자들의 설명이다.

“한 가지 중요한 변수는 부부가 그들의 희로애락을 더 큰 사랑과 구원의 이야기에 적용하는지 여부였다. 행복한 부부는 행복했던 시절에 대해서만 이야기하지 않았다. 그들은 어려운 가운데에서도 긍정적인 면을 찾았다.”

“또 다른 중요한 변수는 ‘우리라는 느낌’이다. 만족스러운 결혼생활을 영위하고 있는 부부는 그들의 과거를 이야기할 때 1인칭 복수 대명사를 많이 사용했다. 그들은 사건이 개인이 아닌 부부에게 어떻게 영향을 미쳤는지에 중심을 두고 이야기했다.

이 모든 일이 결국 우리에게 사랑으로, 특히 ‘애착’으로 이르게 하는 것이겠지요. 애착은 부단한 노력이자 결실이고 서로를 강하게 결속시켜 주는 힘이기도 합니다.

App that runs Mistral 7b locally on an iPhone Pro. Mistral 7b is about as good as GPT-3.5, although this is quantized to 2 bit which probably impacts performance. In the future, all phones will have built-in LLMs.

While quantizing to 2 bits isn't ideal, it is kind of crazy that you can take a 32 floating point number, reduce it to one out of four values, and still get decent inference.

GPU performance right now doubles every 2-3 years. Phone RAM maybe every 3 years. So expect bigger models in the future.

I think there's a ton to do there with generative AI, and I'm kind of shocked that nothing's really come of that yet. And again, it's very early, so maybe that's... Why but you see, uh, mid-journey and Pika and all these things around video and images and rich content. That way, you see the ability to expand content. You put it in a couple bullets and you have a beautiful poem written. As well as contract it.."
