❇️ PhD Scholarship Tax Wealth and Justice

📎 We invite suitably qualified scholars to undertake a higher degree by research, funded by ARC Discovery Project Sharing the Wealth: Tax and Justice in a Slow Growth Era. The PhD candidate will be located at the Melbourne Law School under the primary supervision of Professor Miranda Stewart.

The scholarship benefits include a full fee exemption, stipend of AUD$31,200 per year pro rata (2022 full-time study rate) for 3.5 years; and various allowances.

Applicants must be eligible for acceptance by the University of Melbourne Law School into a PhD program and the scholarship is conditional upon acceptance into the program. Applicants should be available to start in February 2022.

Qualified applicants must have a JD, LLB, or equivalent degree, as well as a relevant advanced graduate degree or equivalent experience. Western Law welcomes candidates with degrees or research expertise in Law or other related fields, including Political Science, Sociology, History, Anthropology, or Geography. Applicants are encouraged to describe their connections to or partnerships with Indigenous communities and organizations, where applicable.

The appointment is expected to commence July 1, 2022, although alternative starting dates may be arranged.

- a teaching statement (discussing teaching philosophy, teaching interests, and teaching experience (if applicable)) of approximately two to three pages; and
- two sample publications (or other writing samples, such as a dissertation chapter).
