❇️ Automation is efficient: data is gathered, processed and used to do things people cannot. Yet we have lived in a world run by and for humans, in which human sovereignty has seemed to be more important than efficiency of performance. Sovereignty and efficiency are beginning to show strong potential for conflict. For the law, this presents questions at every stage: the nature and protection of data, the manner in which it is communicated and stored, the models and algorithms according to which it is processed, the authority it is given to act, and the people whose labor it replaces. Conceptually, this evolution presents legal academics with questions ranging from the nature of society (human centered or efficiency centered?) and data to the shape of technical rules for the construction of algorithms and the supervision of automated execution.

✅ The Department of Political Science at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position offering applicants an exciting opportunity to join a new research project entitled "Populism and Democratic Defence in Europe".

The starting date is 1 January 2021 or subject to mutual agreement.

❇️Job description:
We are looking for a highly motivated researcher who will work on the project in the Political theory team, consisting of Anthoula Malkopoulou, Lund University, and Fabio Wolkenstein and Tore Vincents Olsen, Aarhus University. The team will also be joined by PhD candidate placed in Lund. The project is funded by The Carlsberg Foundation with a 7.5 million DKK grant.

The project is set up as an interdependent and collaborative endeavor between project participants and the researcher will be participating in regular online and onsite research workshops. The project also funds conference participation. In addition, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities at the Political Science department. The candidate is expected to conduct research regarding the normative legitimacy of regulation of free speech and of civil society organizations and political parties with the purpose of protecting and promoting the values and institutions of liberal democracy. The candidate may also undertake a small amount of teaching (equivalent to one course per year).

❇️ Your qualifications
Eligible candidates must have:
A PhD in philosophy, political science, law or another discipline related to the project (or provide documentation about being close to completion)
Experience in independent research
Experience with collaborating and working together with others in a team
An excellent command of spoken and written English
A compelling and relevant research proposal

✅ یکم سپتامبر 1992 [دهم شهریور 1371] برابر است با روز قانون اساسی #جمهوری_اسلواکی، این روز به مناسبت سالگرد روز تصویب قانون اساسی تعطیل رسمی است.

❇️ ساختار کلی نظام اساسی اسلواکی بر مبنای تفکیک قوای سه گانه، بصورت تک مجلسی و #دادرسی_اساسی_متمرکز است که در آن رئیس کشور، رئیس جمهور و همچنین مسئول اجرای قانون اساسی است. رئیس دولت نخست وزیر است.

❇️ قانون اساسی اسلواکی با یک مقدمه کوتاه و نه بخش، در یکصد و پنجاه و شش اصل نظام اساسی جمهوری اسلواکی را تنظیم و معرفی می نماید.

📍 متن قانون اساسی جمهوری اسلواکی

❇️اصل یکم قانون اساسی اسلواکی تصریح می کند:

"1) جمهوری اسلواکی کشوری مستقل و دمکراتیک است که تحت حاکمیت قانون قرار دارد و با هیچ ایدئولوژی و مذهبی پیوند ندارد.
2) جمهوری اسلواکی قواعد عمومی حقوق بین الملل، معاهدات بین المللی که به موجب آن متعهد است و سایر تعهدات بین المللی خود را به رسمیت می شناسد و به آنها احترام می گذارد."

❇️ اصل دوازدهم بیان می‌دارد:

"1) مردم از نظر کرامت و حقوق آزاد و برابر هستند. حقوق و آزادی های اساسی غیر قابل تجاوز، مسلم (غیرقابل انکار)، ابدی(شامل مرور زمان نمی‌شوند) و غیرقابل لغو هستند.

2) حقوق و آزادی های اساسی در قلمرو جمهوری اسلواکی بدون در نظر گرفتن جنس، نژاد، رنگ پوست، زبان، ایمان و مذهب، افکار سیاسی یا افکار دیگر، منشأ ملی یا اجتماعی، وابستگی به یک ملت یا هر کشور برای همه تضمین شده است.

📍هیچ گروه قومی، دارایی، تبار یا هر وضعیت دیگری آسیب نمی بیند، ترجیح داده نمی شود یا مورد تبعیض قرار نمی گیرد.

3) هر کس حق دارد آزادانه در مورد ملیت خود تصمیم بگیرد. هرگونه تأثیر بر این تصمیم و هر نوع فشار با هدف سرکوب ملیت هر کس ممنوع است.

4) هیچ کس در استفاده از حقوق اساسی و آزادی های خود آسیب نمی‌بیند."

❇️مجلس اسلواکی ۱۵۰ کرسی دارد که نمایندگان آن برای دوره‌ای چهار ساله انتخاب می‌شوند.

❇️ رئیس جمهور، رئیس حکومت است و با رای مستقیم مردم انتخاب می‌شود. نخست‌وزیر در اسلواکی رئیس دولت است و هیأت دولت نظارت می‌کند. دوره نخست وزیری چهار ساله است و معمولاً نخست وزیر، رئیس حزب برنده در انتخابات مجلس ملی است.
از مهم‌ترین وظایف رئیس کشور عزل و نصب دولت، انحلال مجلس، عزل و نصب فرماندهان ارتش، عزل و نصب رؤسای دانشگاه‌ها و توشیح مصوبات مجلس می‌باشد.

❇️ دادرسی اساسی در جمهوری اسلواکی بصورت متمرکز و بر عهده دیوان قانون اساسی است.

❇️ همه روزنامه‌ها در کشور اسلواکی خصوصی هستند و بیش از ۲۰ شبکه رادیویی خصوصی در این کشور فعال است.

❇️ برای بازنگری قانون اساسی، سه پنجم آرای کل مجلس یعنی نود نفر از نمایندگان لازم است. قانون اساسی جمهوری اسلواکی تا کنون 15 مرتبه در سال‌های مختلف #بازنگری و بروزرسانی شده است.

⭕️ با پیگیری فعالان مدنی نام مادر نیز در شناسنامه‌ افغان‌ها قید می‌شود

دفتر معاونت دوم ریاست جمهوری افغانستان اعلام کرد، در جلسه‌ای فوق‌العاده تصمیم گرفته شد که با تعدیل برخی قوانین مربوط به "ثبت احوال" نام مادر نیز در شناسنامه شهروندان قید شود.

این تصمیم برای اجرا باید به تصویب کابینه و پارلمان افغانستان نیز برسد. تا پیش از این تنها اسامی پدر و پدربزرگ در شناسنامه افغان‌ها قید می‌شد.

فعالان مدنی مدت‌هاست که برای درج نام مادر در شناسنامه‌ها تلاش می‌کنند.

❇️ The Law Department of the European University Institute (EUI) is delighted to share this call for papers for a two-day Doctoral Forum on International Law which will be held at the Department of Law, Villa Salviati, Florence, on 23 – 24 November 2020 with the support of the European Society of International Law.

❇️ International lawyers entering the field today are met with challenges such as the rise of populism, growing economic inequality, climate change, and unraveling global cooperation. In addressing these challenges, the situation of international lawyers⎯e.g. their race, gender, or position in the field⎯and its influence on how they think and address these challenges has been seldom considered overtly. Building on this reflexive attitude, long productively discussed in the social sciences, this Forum invites contributors to explore practising reflexivity in their own work and in the field of international law.

❇️ The practice of reflexivity takes the international lawyer as an object of research, examining their situation and how it influences what they do or think, and it can also extend to an examination of the field itself and the scholarly endeavour. In particular, this Forum seeks to investigate how the practice of reflexivity could uncover disciplinary routines and create possibilities for new or alternative interventions in response to the field’s most pressing challenges.

Abstracts of around 500 words should be sent together with a CV to DFIL@eui.eu on 13 September 2020. Selected presenters will be notified via email by the end of September.

The authors of selected papers will be required to submit an extended abstract/paper of at least 2,500 words by 15 November 2020. An eventual volume on the theme of the Forum may be considered.
