یک قاضی دیوان‌عالی برزیل دستور داده که حساب‌های کاربری شانزده نفر از وابستگان و هواداران رئیس جمهور دست راستی این کشور بسته شوند. علت امر، تحقیقات پیرامون کارزار "جعل اطلاعات" در فضای مجازی و مشارکت احتمالی این افراد در این پویش است.

قاضی الکساندر مورائس گفته که این حساب‌ها باید به خاطر "انتشار پیوسته اخبار ساختگی" و هم چنین "ادعاها و تهدیدهای توهین‌آمیز" مسدود شوند. فیسبوک و توییتر بر همین اساس، اکانت‌های این افراد را بسته‌اند.

قاضی مورائس از جمله کسانی است که دولت برزیل را به شفاف‌سازی در باره آمار کرونا و مدیریت بهینه کشور فراخوانده است. پس از این مخالفت‌ها، دولت وارد یک جنگ قدرت با دیوان‌عالی شد و تهدیدها و اخبار نادرستی به صورت هماهنگ علیه مورائس و دستگاه قضایی در شبکه‌های اجتماعی منتشر شد.

مورائس گفته که هدف بررسی‌ها، مشخص کردن این مسئله است که آیا جاعلان از امکانات مالی دولتی به این منظور استفاده کرده‌اند یا خیر.

❇️ International lawyers entering the field today are met with challenges such as the rise of populism, growing economic inequality, climate change, and unraveling global cooperation. Building on this reflexive attitude, long productively discussed in the social sciences, this Forum invites contributors to explore practising reflexivity in their own work and in the field of international law.
