The public offering of merchant platform company Pine Labs may be sooner than expected. The company has passed a resolution to convert its Singapore-based holding entity from private to public, regulatory filings show.

With this, the company has been renamed from Pine labs Pte to Pine Labs Limited, indicating that the company’s IPO preparation has started to gather momentum. 

According to Entrackr sources, the company is likely to list in the US in the next 10-12 months. While the company hasn’t said anything about the size of the issue and valuation, a TOI report estimates that Pine Labs would eye a $5 billion valuation in the potential IPO.

The interesting part is that the company is looking to list in US markets.

Last year, Indian government has changed the rules to allow Indian companies to list overseas without even listing on NSE or BSE...

Generally, tech companies get higher valuation in US or Singapore markets as compared to Indian markets. So, company prefers to lis in these markets....

If Fed increase the interest rates in US, bond market will attract money and emerging markets such as India will see funds outflow from equity.

Fund outflow means, foreign investors will sell rupee and buy dollars. This will depreciates rupee against dollar.

Moreover, as price of crude oil is rising, which is India's Largest imported item, will increase the demand of dollar. So, again rupee will depreciates..

So, coming months would be crucial for the Indian equity market.

MTAR Technologies was established in 1970, it is in the business of manufacturing various machine equipment, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and spare parts for energy, nuclear, space, aerospace, defence and other engineering industries.

KEY POINTS
Nuclear Segment (26% of revenues): In this segment, Co. Manufactures complex components and assemblies such as Fuel Machining Head, Drive Mechanisms, Bridge & Column, etc. for nuclear reactors. It also provides customized Ball Screws and Water Lubricated Bearings that are import substitutes and used in various assemblies.

Space & Defence (21% of revenues): Co. manufactures complex components and assemblies such has Liquid Propulsion Rocket Engines, Cryogenic Engines, etc. among others for clients

Clean Energy (50% of revenues): Co. Manufactures power units, specifically hot boxes and supplied prototypes hydrogen boxes and electrolysers.

Geographical Split
During FY21, domestic sales accounted for ~45% of revenues and exports accounted for the rest ~55% of revenues.

Order Book
As of 31st March 21, The company has an order Book of Rs. 416 Crores. The order book is divided into :-
Space & Defence: 36%
Clean Energy: 35%
Nuclear: 29%

1) Supplied engine for the PSLV-C25, which launched the Mars Orbiter Mission Spacecraft
2) Integral for the GSLV Mark III engine for the Chandrayaan II mission

Revenue Concentration Risk
As of December 31, 2020, the company caters to 39 customers, but Revenue from Top 3 Clients contribute to roughly 80% of the Revenue (Bloom energy - 49%, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited - 23%, ISRO - 7%)
The Co. has been supplying to several of its clients for decades.
Bloom Energy - 50% revenue Contributor Client: Bloom Energy is a US based co. which makes clean, reliable and affordable energy for everyone on earth. Bloom Energy is the largest player contributing to segmental revenue (fuel cell products) of MTAR. MTAR is one of the key suppliers to Bloom Energy and sole supplier from the Indian market as of FY20.

Manufacturing Facility
The company have 7 manufacturing units including an Export Oriented Unit (EOU). Plants located in proximity to major defence organizations.

Expansion
1) Building a specialized fabrication facility at Adibatla, Hyderabad to take up high end fabrication jobs that shall enhance the existing capabilities. The facility is expected to be functional by H2 FY22.
2) Diversified into high precision sheet metal work. Establishing a sheet metal facility at Adibatla, Hyderabad. The co. will be initially catering to ISRO and Bloom Energy. The facility is expected to be functional by H2 FY22.
