Subject-agreement (part-2)

✅Rule-7:
With,along with,together with,as well as,accompanied with/by,in addition to,but,except দ্বার যুক্ত একাধিক সাবজেক্টে ১ম সাবজেক্ট অনুযায়ী verb হবে।

Example:
▫️The headmaster along with his colleagues is coming here today.
▫️Her brother along with her parents insists that she remain in school.

✅Rule-8:
Either...or,neither...nor,not only...but also দ্বারা একাধিক subject যুক্ত থাকলে নিকটতম subject অনুসারে verb হবে।

Example:
▫️Neither Rimi nor her friends are qualified for the job.

✅Rule-9:
Many a/an+singular noun+singular verb

Example:
▫️Many a student wastes his/her time in idleness.

✅Rule-10:
Time,Distance,Weight,Length,Money এদের এককের সমষ্টি plural দেখতে হলেও unit হিসেবে singular verb হবে।কিন্তু সমষ্টি না বুঝিয়ে আলাদা বুঝালে plural verb হবে

Example:
▫️Two hours seems a long time.
▫️Twenty years have passed since my mother died.

✅Rule-11:
One of,Any of,Each of,Either of,Neither of +plural noun+verb singular.

Example:
▫️ One of my best friends is getting PhD today.
▫️Each of the girls attends the class regularly.

✅Rule-12:
Fraction+plural noun+plural verb.

Fraction+singular noun+singular verb.

Example:
▫️Two-thirds of the children were present.
▫️One-third of the work has been done.
