Subject-verb agreement(part-1)

✅Rule-1:
বিষয়ের নাম,বইয়ের নাম,সিনেমার নাম,দেশের নাম,সংগঠনের নাম দেখতে plural হলেও singular verb গ্রহণ করে।

Example:
▫️Gulliver's Travels is wonderful to read.
▫️The Aravian Nights is still a great favourite.

✅Rule-2:
বাক্যের শুরুতে যদি adjective থাকে তবে adj.+singular verb+singular subject or adj.+plural verb+plural subject.

Example:
▫️Sweet are the uses of adversity.
▫️Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.

✅Rule-3:
One and a half+plural noun+singular verb.

Example:
▫️One and a half lemons was enough.
▫️One and a half hours is a long time.

✅Rule-4:
If,If only,I wish এরপরে subject এর number ও person যাই হোক না কেন be হিসেবে সর্বদাই were বসে।

Example-
▫️If I were in your shoes.

✅Rule-5:
One of+plural noun+singular verb

Example:
▫️One of my friends lives in London.

✅Rule-6:
And দ্বারা যুক্ত দুটা সাবজেক্ট আলাদা বিষয়কে বুঝালে verb plural কিন্তু যদি একক ব্যক্তি/ধারণা প্রকাশ করে তবে singular verb.

Example:
▫️Coffee and tea were served in the evening.
▫️Here are the note book and the report that I promised you last week.

But‼️
▫️Bread and butter is my favourable food.
▫️The poet and novelist has come.
