آخر دراسات وابحاث علماء الفضاء تقول أن الشمس دخلت في حالة سبات اي إنخفاض نشاطها بشكل ملحوظ في السنوات الأخيرة ذلك أن الانفجارات المغناطسية فيها ليست مثل السابق وقد حدث متل هذا سنة 1700م ،ويؤثر هذا على الارض في السنوات القادمة أننا سنعيش بدون فصل الصيف لعشر سنوات على الاقل وستنخفض فيها درجة الحرارة بشكل ملحوظ ،ويسمى هذا عند العلماء بعصر جليدي صغير يمتد من عشرة الى خمسة عشر سنة تم تعود الشمس الى نشاطها.
