πΉ1. Hydrogen Line -
- The hydrogen line, discovered in 1951, revolutionised radio astronomy. It is used for studying distant stars and searching for extraterrestrial intelligence.
- The hydrogen atom is composed of one proton and one electron. Both particles have a property called spin, which can be up or down.
πΉ2. Quicklime (CaO) -
- Quicklime is spread over dead fish to reduce the stench.
- Quicklime, composed of calcium (Ca) and oxygen (O), is a white or greyish-white solid. It is produced by roasting calcium carbonate (CaCOβ) to drive off carbon dioxide (COβ).

- A huge mob from the Satnami community set fire to the Superintendent of Police (SP) office building in Baloda Bazar district of Chhattisgarh over policeβs handling of a case involving the desecration of a Jaitkhamb, a structure of sacred importance to the Satnamis, in Giraudpuri village last month.
- Unidentified persons vandalised the jaitkhamb near the Amar Gufa in Giraudpuri Dham.
πΉ2. Aditya L1 Images -
- Solar Ultra Violet Imaging Telescope (SUIT) and Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) payloads aboard Indiaβs maiden solar mission, Aditya-L1, have captured images of the sun and its dynamic activities during the solar storm, which occurred in May.
- Several X-class and M-class flares erupted in the active region AR13664 on the sun. This was associated with coronal mass ejections (CMEs).
