A cyberattack targeting Danfoss refrigeration controllers has disrupted hundreds of French supermarkets, including Intermarché and Coopérative U. Hackers reportedly forced continuous defrost cycles, with heating settings reaching 50°C, damaging refrigerated and frozen food stocks.
Around 150–200 Intermarché stores and fewer than 100 Coopérative U locations were reportedly affected. E.Leclerc stores were also reported to be impacted.
Paris prosecutors have opened an investigation into the attack, while affected retailers work to restore their refrigeration systems and assess losses.

European electronics retailer MediaMarkt has removed all Ledger products from its stores and website after customers reported suspected hardware tampering in Ledger Nano X wallets purchased at separate locations.
The devices allegedly contained hidden LTE modules capable of transmitting recovery phrases to attackers. Ledger has confirmed implants in devices linked to reseller CryptoBilis in Southeast Asia, but the reports involving European retailers remain under investigation.
Ledger says confirmed cases so far are linked to CryptoBilis, so the wider claims should not be treated as proof that all Ledger devices are compromised.

A suspected China-linked espionage group exploited a zero-day vulnerability, CVE-2026-102764, in BeyondTrust Remote Support appliances, gaining access to sensitive credentials and potentially taking control of affected systems.
BeyondTrust confirmed that attackers compromised one company-hosted and one self-hosted appliance in August. The company said its security sensors raised alerts in real time, but an automated third-party triage tool incorrectly closed them as false positives.
The critical flaw has since been patched, but organisations using self-hosted systems are urged to apply the update and check for signs of compromise.

Security firm Calif reportedly demonstrated a working exploit for two critical PHP vulnerabilities, tracked as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, ahead of the scheduled security patch.
A briefly published video showed commands being executed on a WordPress site running PHP 8.5.4. Security researcher Kevin Beaumont reportedly confirmed the screenshot was genuine, while a separate public proof-of-concept remains unreliable.
The flaws could enable remote code execution without authentication, potentially putting websites and applications built on PHP at risk. The official patch was scheduled for 14:00 UTC on October 21.
PHP core developers have warned that temporary configuration changes are not a reliable substitute for upgrading. Administrators should prepare to install the official fix immediately upon release.

Website owners using affected certificates must reissue and reinstall them to avoid potential HTTPS disruptions. GoDaddy says the issue concerns certificate compliance, not evidence that the certificates were compromised.
