“In books and films there are things that move me a lot, they are life’s rituals: people sharing breakfast, people taking off their shoes when they come in, people who make up their beds when they make up in the morning, those who don’t, those that open the window to let fresh air come in, etc. Rituals. I am always told we can’t film rituals; that they are boring because they happen again and again, but specifically that’s what I love.”

I love photography like this, I love when the photographer lets the subject know that he’s there, he’s shooting and saving but the subjects still decide to show their vulnerability, their love. I believe it to be more meaningful than street photography where the people aren’t aware of being watched, it’s amazing what we still share even when we know it’s going to get out. I think it says so much about us, about humanity. It tells me that we love love and we can’t wait to share love and show love and be in love. That it’s all for love.
I have an emotional bond with Kim Tae-ri.
I read about you once, you like your tea with a bit if lemon zest. You said it makes it taste just as bitter as coffee but better. I don’t really get it but I guess I can live with not getting some things. What I read about you was small, so minuscule that I keep forgetting and making stuff up as I go. I don’t remember what you said about cows, did you not eat meat because you hate their guts or love them? I remember there were strong feelings involved. I miss you so much.
