Statement on the ceasefire agreement between the SDF and the HTS-Government from the 29th of January

The joint resistance of the people of Rojava and all their supporters all over the world broke the attacks by the HTS-forces on the Kurdish areas on Syria. This resistance forced the attackers again on the table of negotiations. With the ceasefire and negotiations comes the possibility to stop the war and the bloodshed and counter the imperialist plan to keep the Middle Wast in a state of constant war and hatred among the people.

But we must remain vigilant! The war is not over yet. The siege of Kobanê has not been lifted, and the captured fighters of the SDF and YPJ have not yet been freed from the hands of the jihadists. Women’s rights are not yet guaranteed. Therefore, this is not a time for stagnation or hopelessness, but for action and resistance. We will continue to fight for the defense of Rojava and the achievements of the revolution.
