Backend Developer (Senior) β zehnmind.ai

We're looking for a senior backend engineer to build the APIs and infrastructure behind our AI products β FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and AI integrations through MCP.
Key responsibilities
β’ Design and develop RESTful APIs using FastAPI
β’ Design, optimize and maintain PostgreSQL schemas and queries
β’ Write unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and coverage
β’ Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
β’ Containerize and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes
β’ Implement authentication, authorization and secure coding practices (input validation, secrets management, OWASP guidelines)
β’ Integrate AI capabilities into backend systems using MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers/tools
β’ Optimize application performance and database query efficiency
β’ Deploy and monitor services on cloud infrastructure
β’ Collaborate with frontend and product teams to integrate backend capabilities
β’ Maintain version-controlled, well-documented codebases
Requirements
β’ 5+ years of backend development experience (middle level or above)
β’ Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI
β’ Solid PostgreSQL experience β schema design, indexing, query optimization, migrations
β’ Experience writing unit tests (pytest or similar) and following TDD best practices
β’ Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar)
β’ Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments
β’ Understanding of REST API design principles and best practices
β’ Knowledge of application security fundamentals β authentication/authorization, data encryption, vulnerability scanning, secure API design
β’ Version control with Git and collaborative development practices
β’ Languages: Uzbek C1, English B2 or above
Good to have
β’ Experience with MCP for connecting AI tools/agents to backend services
β’ Async Python (asyncio, SQLAlchemy async or similar)
β’ Message queues β RabbitMQ, Kafka or Redis
β’ Cloud platforms β AWS, GCP or Azure
β’ SQLAlchemy ORM and Alembic migrations
β’ Caching strategies β Redis, Memcached
