Codeware 1.0.1 Beta Is Now Available!
We’re excited to introduce Codeware 1.0.1 Beta, a major milestone in the evolution of our project. This release brings more than 100 new features, enhancements, and capabilities, making it one of the most significant updates to the Sketchware experience since 2020.
Before getting started, please read the following important information carefully.
1. Important: Beta Version
Codeware 1.0.1 is still under active development and has not yet reached a stable release. You may encounter bugs, crashes, incomplete features, or unexpected behavior. Some features may not work as intended, and this is expected at this stage.
For now, we strongly recommend that you do not rely on this beta as your primary development environment for important projects.
2. Important: Storage and Existing Projects
Codeware uses a different application package name and a separate storage path, allowing it to operate independently of previous versions.
When prompted to import data from SK Studio or use an existing storage path, do not import your previous data. Instead, choose a new storage path without importing anything.
Although Codeware is designed to operate independently, we strongly recommend keeping a backup of your existing projects as a precaution before testing the beta.
3. Explore the New Experience
This release introduces substantial changes to the interface, workflow, and overall development experience. As a result, Codeware may initially feel unfamiliar or more complex than previous versions.
We encourage you to explore the application thoroughly and take the time to understand its different sections and capabilities. The new interface is designed to support a broader and more comprehensive development workflow, so getting familiar with it will take some time.
Our vision goes beyond a traditional visual Android app builder. We aim to create a complete Android development environment directly on your phone, with increasingly advanced tools and capabilities.
4. What’s New and What’s Coming
With over 100 new features and enhancements, this release represents a substantial step forward. However, this is only the beginning.
Future updates are planned to expand Kotlin support, introduce deeper Gradle integration, improve build systems, and bring additional advanced development tools. These improvements will help move Codeware closer to our long-term vision of a comprehensive mobile development environment.
Exporting projects in the new ".sksp" format is also planned for a future update.
