IMPORTANT NOTICE — SK Studio

We’ve read your comments, suggestions, feedback, and issue reports. Thank you for helping us improve SK Studio. We’ll review and address your feedback as we continue development.

Our current priority is stability.

SK Studio is still under active development, and the current version is not yet fully stable. We’re focused on fixing bugs, resolving compatibility issues, improving performance, and strengthening the features already available before expanding further.

What’s next?

Our vision extends far beyond the current version. We plan to introduce a broader and more powerful toolkit, including advanced project-management tools, code analysis, debugging and build utilities, productivity features, and intelligent AI capabilities.

We’re also working toward an integrated AI assistant that can help developers write, understand, improve, troubleshoot, and manage their projects more efficiently.

Support will continue to expand for Kotlin, Gradle, and other development technologies, alongside integrations with tools and services such as Unity, Meta Audience Network, and additional platforms used in modern Android development.

Our long-term goal is to make SK Studio a comprehensive Android development environment that brings essential tools for coding, building, testing, debugging, project management, and optimization into one place.

There is still significant work ahead, and many features are planned. We’ll move forward step by step, with stability, quality, performance, compatibility, and developer experience as our priorities.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING — SK Studio 1.0.0

We discovered an issue related to the data directory after installing SK Studio over the original Sketchware Pro.

First, let us clarify: SK Studio does NOT delete or damage your projects or files.

SK Studio uses a new data directory, ".Studio", instead of ".sketchware". This is intentional, designed to make switching between SK Studio and the original Sketchware Pro easier by allowing the existing files to be restored without unnecessary copying or data loss.

I personally tested this process:

- Installed SK Studio over the original Sketchware Pro.
- Uninstalled SK Studio.
- Restored the original Sketchware Pro.
- Renamed ".Studio" back to ".sketchware".

Everything worked perfectly! My existing projects and files remained intact and accessible.

If you want to return to the original Sketchware Pro, simply rename the ".Studio" folder to ".sketchware" after uninstalling SK Studio, ensuring the folder is in the correct location.

SK Studio is working correctly, and my tests confirmed that this directory change does not damage project files.

Please note that you should avoid deleting either data folder before verifying that your projects are accessible.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Introducing the New ".sksp" Project Format

As SK Studio continues to evolve, we need a more capable project format that can support ongoing development, improved project management, and future features.

That’s why we’re adopting ".sksp" as the new official format for exporting SK Studio projects.

What does this mean?

- ".sksp" — The new format for exporting projects from SK Studio.
- ".swb" — Remains fully supported for importing existing Sketchware and Sketchware Pro projects.

The older ".swb" format will continue to work for importing projects, ensuring compatibility with existing files and the Sketchware ecosystem. However, project exports from SK Studio will use ".sksp" exclusively.

This change gives us greater flexibility to develop a more advanced project system, with better support for future improvements and new capabilities.

A new format for the next chapter of SK Studio.

These changes represent a major step toward building something far more advanced than the original Sketchware experience — with its own identity, structure, and long-term direction.

The transition will happen gradually across all our platforms as we introduce this new chapter.

A new name. A new foundation. A much bigger vision.

Welcome to Codeware Studio.

More details coming soon.

#Notice

We’re working on a new local intelligence system designed to make app development faster and more efficient.

It will help developers analyze their projects, identify potential improvements, make better development decisions, and automate repetitive tasks. A dedicated workspace will also offer deeper customization, programming tools, and expanded support settings, giving developers more control over how they work.

The experimental version is planned for 1.0.1, with a more complete release targeted for 1.0.2.

Less repetitive work. More time to build.
