Chrome's RAM saving mode

Google has announced a feature for the desktop version of Chrome that fixes the browser's main problem of high RAM consumption. According to the developers, the new memory saving mode frees up to 40 per cent of RAM. The new feature will appear in Chrome 108, but the mode can be enabled manually now.

To activate it:
- Go to chrome://flags/#high-efficiency-mode-available;
- Select one of the items from the drop-down menu;
- Restart your browser;
- Go to Browser settings > Performance section > Activate the Memory saving option.

After you activate "Memory Saving", Chrome will automatically put your tabs to sleep if they are not used for a long time. When a frozen page is needed again, the browser will simply reload it.
