Let’s kill this “summer = ክረምት” stuff once and for all.

Westerns call summer their በጋ. As we know, when it is በጋ for them, it will be ክረምት for us.

If we take the conceptual translation, the word summer indicates a season characterized by sunny and warm weather, so we can call it በጋ.

The other view, which is used by many individuals in Ethiopia, translates summer as ክረምት, even though it doesn’t actually mean ክረምት. This happens because it is ክረምት here when the weather is summer for Westerns. In some sense, we and the Western world have opposite seasonal weather patterns.

So which one is preferred?
I prefer the conceptual translation:
summer → በጋ

In the next episodes of our session on solar system, we try to see into the planets rather than the sun.

We divide them based on their distance from the sun into:
-> The rocky (terrestrial) planets
-> The astsroid belts and
-> The gas planets (the gas giants)

Then we finalize the core session and try to see for relating researches and topics like, road to Mars and road to moon.
