About the session: Elasticsearch is a search backend primarily. It is a distributed system that can serve millions of search requests parallelly. You could do auto complete, typo correction, "did you mean?", synonyms, fuzzy searching, script based queries on it. However, for folks who are into all this and want something simpler, Elastic abstracted the complexity and built something called App Search which has a search console to manage relevance, synonyms and curations. We’ll take a look at all these types of search engines.

Most teams lose out a lot of time debugging the code in their application be it in a monolith or microservice architecture. Debugging becomes hard when you have multiple services passing on information to each other and individually scaling on their load/traffic etc. In the cloud-native world, this kind of scale is pretty common and recommended to build applications that auto-scales on the request of an user. Tracing helps you by giving visibility into your application’s errors and exceptions.
