Introducing የዝማሬ ማዕድ (YeZemare Maed)

Selam everyone! 👋

During this Abiy Tsom, I really wanted a place to just listen to Orthodox Mezmurs peacefully with the lyrics, without getting distracted by recommendations, or cluttered UIs. I couldn't find an app that did exactly what I wanted... so I decided to fight with some scripts and build it myself!

The User Experience:
-Clean, distraction-free audio streaming.
-Fully categorized by Zemarian and Mezmur categories.
-5 different custom themes designed to feel natural and calm.

Still a work in progress!

• Around 75% of tracks don’t have lyrics yet
• Lyrics are being generated in the background (AI + API limits)

So my take is, culture whether it adds meaning or not, at least gives us beauty.

I believe having a personal “culture” makes life a little more beautiful. It’s the unique patterns in how we do things that give us an identity.

You can just watch a movie, but taking screenshots, rating it on Letterboxd, and reading reviews to feel closer to the art makes it a little more you.

You can just shoot a coffee like an addict, or you can take your time and appreciate the ritual the music in the background, the environment.. and everything around it.
Even at work, bringing your own rhythm into the day makes everything more colorful.

So my life hack is, don’t just do the task create a culture around how you do it. It’s all about being authentic in what you do.
