What I love about Ethiopian New Year is abebayehosh
My dad would NEVER let us go outside to play. He’d be like, I’ll give you the money.
So we’d wait until we went to grandma’s, then me and my cousins would go around doing Abebayehosh with our aunts, and the we collecting money from our aunts’ husbands 😂

🤍 Those old good memories don’t have to trap you with people who hurt you now.
🤍 When staying connected hurts, even good memories can ache. It’s okay to set distance.
🤍 Talking makes it sound simple, but living it is messy and slow.
🤍 Knowing & doing. Knowing the steps is one door. Walking through it is another.
🤍 Knowing what to change isn’t the same as actually changing.
🤍 You can’t plan every thing. Sometimes you just handle what’s in front of you.
🤍 Being busy isn’t the same as moving toward the life you want.
🤍 Some seasons are more about surviving than thriving.
