It's really a blessing to be the middle child for real
It's so hard being the first daughter and the first child, fr
😭12
Looking back, growing up as a first child was actually kind of fun.

Everyone respected me. I had my own room. I could go out and come home at almost any time. My family listened to me, and they even valued my opinion. Before my mom made an important decision, she'd often ask what I thought. I was only 14 or 15, but she made me feel much older like I was capable of helping and giving good advice.

At the time, I didn't think much about it. I just thought that was normal.

Now I realize she was preparing me for life

Today, those experiences help me more than I ever expected. But they also came with a weight I didn't notice as a child. As the first daughter and the first child, it sometimes feels like the future of the family rests on your shoulders.

My younger sisters look up to me. They copy what I do, so I always feel like I have to be better, make better choices, and set a good example. I'm grateful they're following a good path, but I also remember hearing the same words almost every day:

"Your sisters are watching you. You have to do well. You have to be a good example"
( Failing the matric or entrance exams was never an option for me )

As a kid, those words didn't mean much. As an adult, I finally understand how much responsibility they carried

The best research comes from curious people who can ask good questions and back them up with solid work.

One of my old friends used to say, "I don't want to ruin someone's image in your head by telling you this"

Sometimes you see someone admiring or trusting a person who, in your eyes, doesn't deserve that respect. Or you watch someone place huge expectations on something you already know isn't worth it. The urge to tell them is strong.

But I've realized that not every truth needs to be delivered immediately. Sometimes, preserving someone's hope or allowing them to experience things for themselves is kinder than handing them your version of reality.

Let them discover it in their own way. If they're wrong, life will teach them. If you're wrong, you won't have unfairly changed how they see someone.

Story time

It just come up in my mind ena lengerachu
so i went to a ceremony dressed like I normally would. I was with two friends who were constantly talking about how ugly they looked and how everyone else was dressed so much better. At first, I laughed along, but I didn't actually feel that way.

The more they kept saying it, the more I started believing it too. For the first time in my life, I genuinely felt ugly. It was such a strange feeling because I'd never seen myself that way before. When i grow up my mom used to say ሎዛ ጆንያም ብትለብስ ያምርባታል. No one makes me feel ugly before you know ..

Looking back, I realised it wasn't about how I looked it was about the energy around me. Insecurity can be contagious.

That's why it's important to be around people who lift themselves and others up instead of constantly putting themselves down. Confidence is contagious too.

• LAN peer sync
• Clipboard history
• Line-by-line diffing
• Burn-after-copy
• Smart content detection
• System tray integration
• Global hotkeys
• Automatic updates

Tested on Ubuntu and Mint.
