Introducing Lockd-in

Lockd In is a minimalist productivity web application built to help users manage their time and maintain deep focus.

Built Lockd-in when I was stressing for exit exam & design work overloads back in uni.

After weeks of beta testing, Lockd-in is officially live πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Thanks to everyone that gave me feedbacks, almost all feedbacks have been reviewed & edited into this version πŸ™

Features:
πŸ”₯ Streaks
πŸ“Έ Focus Cards
⏳ Pop Out (PiP) Timer
↗️ Session logs & Productivity Chart
All local, no login or sign up needed

If you've been meaning to build something but keep burning out halfway through, this is definitely for you.

πŸ”— https://lockd-in.pages.dev/ (PC RECOMMENDED for now)

I'm not a developer, so there may be imperfections. If you find a bug, want a feature added, or wish to express your feelings, my comments and DMs are open.

Lock in. Outwork. Outlast.

Tomorrow’s the day πŸ₯³

We’re hosting what we believe will be the biggest hackathon in Ethiopia at Adwa Museum, with around 58 teams and 290 participants, building for one and a half days straight.

We set out with three goals:

* Make it the biggest hackathon Ethiopia has seen

* Make it Ethiopia’s first AI hackathon, where teams get real AI tools to build AI products

* Help real startups come out of it, not just demos that end after the pitch

Huge shoutout to all our partners who helped make this possible.

Good luck to every team. See you at Adwa Museum🫢

I got tired of sending .env files in chat groups and manually copying variables into the right folders. It was slow and insecure. So I built share-env.

With one command, it encrypts every .env file in your project into a single encrypted file that you can commit like any other source code.Your teammate pulls the latest changes, runs one command, enters the shared passphrase, and every .env file is restored to the correct location automatically.

If there are conflicts, share-env shows a per variable diff directly in the terminal, so you can resolve them quickly.Built with scrypt and AES-256-GCM. No server. No signup. Nothing to host. The encrypted file is safe to keep even in a public repository.

npm i -g @sifenfisaha/share-env

Open source: share-env

πŸš€ gheero is excited to announce that registration is now open for the Leyu Data Collection Competition!

Artificial intelligence is only as inclusive as the data it learns from. Today, many Ethiopian languages and dialects remain underrepresented in AI, limiting their presence in the technologies shaping our future.

The Leyu Data Collection Competition invites students, researchers, developers, innovators, and language communities across Ethiopia to help change that.

Using the Leyu Data Collection Platform, participants will collect and contribute 10 hours of high-quality language data in an Ethiopian language, helping build the datasets needed to power the next generation of AI for Ethiopia's diverse languages.

πŸ“… Registration closes: July 31
πŸš€ Competition runs: August 1–21

πŸ† Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three participants, with the grand prize of 100,000 ETB.

For full competition requirements, eligibility criteria, and registration details, visit:

Choosing a university department is one of the biggest decisions you'll make. Unfortunately, many students choose a field based on pressure, trends, or what others expectβ€”not on what truly fits them.

Ethio Path Finder is designed to help freshman students discover career paths that align with their interests, strengths, and passions before making life-changing decisions.

✨ Why use it?

βœ… Explore careers that match your personality.
βœ… Discover opportunities you may have overlooked.
βœ… Make more informed academic and career decisions.
βœ… Gain confidence in your future path.

πŸ˜‚ Reality check:

"Maybe your current career isn't your passion... it's just the path everyone expected you to follow. πŸ˜…"
🎯 Anyways... find your path.
πŸ”— Try it here:

πŸ’¬ To my fellow developers: I'd really appreciate your feedback on the platformβ€”what works well, what could be improved, and any ideas for making it even better.
πŸ“’ Share it with your freshman friends. It might help someone discover the path they're truly meant to follow.
