This year’s autumn edition of Wormhole will be on Saturday 18th October, this time welcoming Kiernan Laveaux. Excited as hell for this one – can’t wait to see you there! 🔮✨🌀

✨A CRASH COURSE IN KIERNAN LAVEAUX FOR THE UNINITIATED✨

Kiernan Laveaux is a connective rhythmic energy conduit & ecstatic beat conductor from the Great Lakes. Originating from deep within Cleveland's electronic underground, she is inspired by forces of universal chaos; the experimentalism and joy found within midwestern electronic music; the infamous In Training, Heaven is in You, Disco Paradiso parties manifested by herself & loved ones in Cleveland. The music she plays – and releases on her Sweet Abyss imprint – is all-embracing & expansive, but unified by a restless sense of ecstatic momentum, dissonant euphoria, & kinetic exuberance - all woven together by entrancing pulsations of uninhibited groove & rhythmatic sensation.

Over the past decade, her ethos of community building, passionate autonomy, and transportative psychedelia has grown to encompass the creators of possible worlds everywhere, releasing a vast array of mixes and live recordings as well playing iconic & transformative sets at worldwide rave destinations including Freerotation, Draaimolen, WHOLE United Queer Festival, an anarchist bookstore in Ohio, Honcho Campout, Return to the Source, a train car in Wisconsin, a woodworking studio in Oregon, a gas station turned into a restaurant in Texas, Club Toilet, Sustain-Release, a USPS shipping container in Virginia and a dub soundsystem club in Poland.

Some info: Ohm is very small and capacity will be strictly limited for everyone’s comfort. It fills up quickly, so to avoid a long wait outside it’s best to arrive early. Space does become available later on as people leave (usually the line has mostly gone down by 4-5am) so feel free to come later as well.

Please look out for each other and help make Wormhole a space where everyone feels at home, safe and comfortable. Our awareness team will be on hand wearing fluorescent harnesses. If you’re feeling unwell, have any concerns, or notice someone who might need help, just speak to one of them and they'll make sure you're properly looked after. ❤️

Wormhole is intended first and foremost as a space for listening and dancing – there’s plenty of room to chat around the bar and in the back room, so we gently encourage you to use the dancefloor as god intended (for shaking your booty). ✨

Likewise please also use the little curtained room next to the booth for its obvious purpose, so that the toilets can be kept free for theirs. 🤠

It should go without saying that creepy, obnoxious, aggressive or otherwise shitty behavior have no place at Wormhole; likewise racism, sexism, transphobia, ableism or any kind of harassment. If anyone is bothering you or making you uncomfortable please speak to one of the awareness team members and they'll take care of it.

Get to know Sepehr, whose Fool's Ovation EP is out this Friday on Objekt's Kapsela imprint (so you could say the next Wormhole doubles as a lil release party 🥳):

Sepehr is an Iranian-American DJ, producer, live act and singer-songwriter. The Bay Area native has cultivated a oblique approach to electronic music that blurs psychedelic techno, electro, acid, trance, industrial music, and SWANA-tinged influence into sensual, hallucinatory body music that seduces first and destabilizes later. Overflowing with cinematic tension, erotic energy and moments of ecstatic disorientation, his music combines physical intensity with surreal atmosphere, evoking equal parts hypnosis, tension, sensuality and controlled delirium. His releases have appeared on labels including Dekmantel, Dark Entries, Planet Euphorique, Naff, Osare Editions, Klakson and Kapsela. Alongside his solo work, he runs Shaytoon Records, a label focused on adventurous and forward-thinking electronic music from the SWANA region and its diaspora.

His last dancefloor-focused EP, “Genesis Domain”, came out in 2024 and explored a metaphysical realm where perception continuously dissolves under extreme speed and pressure, presenting a dreamlike meditation on fractured reality and existential vertigo. “Fool’s Ovation”, coming out on Kapsela on June 12, is its natural follow-up, evolving those themes into a theatrical and decadent spectacle. Framed around the archetype of the Fool or court jester, the release channels seductive club propulsion through grotesque humor, psychological pageantry and apocalyptic excess. Taking nods from both avant-garde electronica of the early 00s and contemporary sleaze, it evokes a velvet-draped dancefloor unfolding at the edge of collapse.

ophélie is a French, Berlin-based DJ and producer with an affinity for low frequencies, intricate percussions and bass-heavy music in all its forms. As an early lover of dub music, UK techno, IDM, and illegal raves, their sound often finds itself at the intersection between dubstep, hypnotic techno, and drum & bass, with hints of psychedelic music, ambient, trance and dream pop. They are interested in the fluid, organic, and often melancholic aspect of music, achieved through combining multiple layers of sounds, creating weird (poly)rhythms, and drawing inspiration from natural landscapes, such as the forest and ocean.

As a producer, they enjoy experimenting with FX, textures and generative sounds, and all different kinds of percussions. They have performed in several renowned European festivals and venues, such as Atonal, Positive Education, FOLD, Tresor Berlin, Ankali, The Cause, or Garage Noord, released music on labels such as subglow, Pressure Dome, Bait, Osmura, hundert, or Early Reflex, and have a residency show on Refuge Worldwide.

As part of Open Music Lab, a non-profit collective offering free music production and DJ courses for people from Berlin’s diverse communities to connect and create together, she's interested in ways to support emerging artists outside the mainstream, with the aim to build a more equitable music scene.

Coat check at Wormhole

Earlier this year the coat checks at Tresor/Globus/Ohm were replaced by smart lockers. We understand that this decision was made reluctantly and out of economic necessity, and don’t judge the venue for it. However, in support of nightlife workers over apps, Wormhole will be bringing back a real, human-staffed coat check on Saturday. The Garderobe will operate on a donation basis, with wages topped up from the Wormhole kasse as needed. So please join us in a small gesture of resistance against the inexorable onward march of late-stage capitalist automation by checking in your cumbersome possessions with a real person this Saturday, and cherish a little sliver of human interaction on your way to the dancefloor 🥰
