❗OpenAI rolls back ChatGPT update due to 'sycophancy'
OpenAI on Wednesday said it has rolled back last week's GPT‑4o update in its AI chatbot ChatGPT. "The update we removed was overly flattering or agreeable—often described as sycophantic," OpenAI said in a statement. "In this update, we focussed too much on short-term feedback, and did not fully account for how users' interactions with ChatGPT evolve over time," OpenAI added.

❗Arvind Shrivastava takes charge as new Revenue Secretary
Arvind Shrivastava on Thursday took charge as the new Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet had on April 18 appointed him as the Revenue Secretary. Previously, Shrivastava, a 1994-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, served as Joint Secretary and then Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office.

Liverpool fans caused a 1.74-magnitude earthquake while celebrating Alexis Mac Allister's goal in the 24th minute in the Premier League title-winning match against Tottenham at Anfield on April 27 (Sunday). A 1.60-magnitude tremor was also caused by the fans after Mohamed Salah scored in the second-half. Liverpool won the match 5-1, clinching their 20th English first division title.
