The real operation was run from Russia. Gugava's job was the money: he opened the bank accounts, was the only signature on them, took in the insurance checks and pushed the money overseas 💸

Insurers paid out about $6.5 million before anyone noticed anything was wrong.

He faces 20 years if they ever get him.

🚨 A family was murdered in Mexico over a hardware wallet

Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist of the band Camilo Séptimo, his pregnant wife, their 3-year-old daughter and their housemaid were killed in their apartment near Mexico City.

Their 6-year-old son survived.
The suspects were after a cold wallet they believed held $1.5M in Bitcoin.

🚨 BREAKING: Sam Bankman-Fried is taking his fraud case to the US Supreme Court

He filed the petition today - a last-ditch shot at overturning his 25-year sentence and the $11 BILLION forfeiture order 💀

🔆 A ChatGPT flaw let attackers read your Gmail through your own account

Check Point found that ChatGPT sessions belonging to different users could secretly talk to each other through an internal service.

The attacker drops a hidden instruction into a shared conversation, a custom GPT, or a prompt the victim pastes in. From then on, the victim's own session quietly runs the attacker's task in the background - pulling from Gmail, Drive, Teams, GitHub, whatever they'd connected 📂

The victim sees a completely normal answer on screen. The stolen data never appears in the chat. It gets written back through the hidden channel for the attacker to pick up.

OpenAI shut down the internal service behind it, so this specific path is closed.

⚡️ Hundreds of contractors are getting paid $50/hour to read real ChatGPT conversations

Internal documents call it "Project Lily." Reviewers read whole conversations between users and the bot, then rate the replies on a 1-to-7 scale 💀

They don't see usernames, and a filter model is supposed to strip out personal details first, but OpenAI's own documentation admits it misses things. Some tasks also come with a "user memories summary" attached, which can show what you've used the bot for before and roughly where you live 📍

This only applies if "improve the model for everyone" is on. It's on by default. Turning it off only covers new chats, not old ones ⚙️

Anthropic confirmed it does human review too, for accounts with the equivalent setting enabled.

The hacker wants Revolut to pay $3 million USD in XMR, an anonymous cryptocurrency. If the ransom is not paid, the hacker says the data will be sold and that "the blood" will be on Revolut's hands.
