A user clicked an old saved link to tornado.cash - the same domain they’d used safely for years. Within 12 hours, 1,010 ETH was gone.

What happened: after OFAC sanctions hit in 2022, the Tornado Cash team stopped renewing the domain. It expired. Someone else registered it and put up a perfect copy of the original interface 📄

The trick is nasty. Your deposit goes into the real smart contract, everything looks normal. But the fake frontend quietly captures your deposit note, the secret string that lets you withdraw later. Whoever holds the note owns the money. The attacker just cashed out first 💰

On-chain records show 810 ETH landing in one attacker address in nine transfers. The community claims this crew has pulled nearly 4,000 ETH the same way over the past year - that part isn’t independently verified yet.

A company can own the asset while the individual uses or rents it for marketing, business or promotional purposes.

So seeing the word “rented” in a court document does not automatically tell you who ultimately controls the company that owns the asset.

The legal owner and the person economically benefiting from an asset are not always the same thing.

He dug in and found two hidden scripts playing a silent tone at zero volume 🔇

Every computer processes sound a bit differently depending on its hardware. Those differences are a fingerprint - and unlike a cookie, you can’t delete it ❌

The scripts also grab screen size, RAM, mouse behavior and WebRTC data. Muting the tab does nothing. No prompt, no consent..
