THE LAMP DEVOTION
WEDNESDAY, MAY 27
BREAK OUT OF SATAN’S EMBALMENT
John 11:43-44
43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
Lazarus was dead and was buried for 4 days. Jesus came to the tomb and called him forth from the grave. Obeying the authority of Jesus, the dead and decomposing body came together. Do you remember dry bones coming together in a vision the Prophet Ezekiel saw? This one was not a vision; it was physical and doubting men could not doubt that. It happened before their eyes.
Lazarus came out of the dead but he was still in grave clothes so Jesus ordered his freedom from the grave clothes. That was the embalmment they put him in for burial. The new life Jesus gave Lazarus would not be lived in the embalmment of grave clothes.
The bible clearly stated that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things are passed away and all things are become new.
You are born again, but are you still living in the embalmment of the devil that kept you captive all these past years? Meditate for a while and let the Holy Spirit reveal to you what could be Satan’s embalmment you are still wearing in this new life in Christ. You have to shed them off completely like Lazarus did. If not, there is no way you can enjoy the Christian life. Walk in total newness!
Prayer
1. Thank God for delivering you from the shackles of sin and its consequences.
2. Ask for the total grace of God that can keep you walking in this new life in Christ. without going back to the old ways that kept you bound.
3. Father, I thank You that it is possible for me to live a life free of Satan’s chains.
Declarations
I declare that I am free from the pangs of sin and death. I am resurrected in Christ, cleansed by the Blood of Christ and brought back alive by the power of the Holy Spirit. In this new life I am blessed with the garments of Jesus Christ my Lord and I put them on everywhere I go. Never again will I go back to the garments of the old life. I am new in Christ in the name of Jesus.

THE BLAMELESS SHALL PROSPER
Psalm 37:18-20
_The LORD knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. 19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. 20 But the wicked shall perish; and the enemies of the LORD, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away._
Sometimes when the believer looks at unbelievers making wealth, the temptation is to adopt some of their ways. We try some of their ways that do not seem evil and get in trouble. Anything that falls short of God’s standard is not acceptable to Him, and we should never let that truth slip out of our minds.
If you study today’s passage critically, it is a two-pronged presentation; part of it says what will happen to the wicked, that is, the people who want to have nothing to do with God. They are the people who will use all the crooked means to acquire wealth and flash their wealth before the world. God has already determined how they will end if they persist in those practices.
The portion of the presentation that should gladden our hearts is that the upright shall always prosper. I am not saying all upright people shall own their private jets. The church is caught up in the world’s definition of prosperity for believers but deny that is the case. Our behavior always points to that fact that we are caught up in that fact.
Because of this perception the upright in the body of Christ are always on edge. Contentment is no longer a Christian virtue because it is interpreted to mean you accept poverty. No matter what happens, by God’s standard, no upright person shall live in lack.
Prayer
1. Thank God for His continued commitment to reward you for being upright.
2. Pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to keep you continually righteous in the sight of God.
3. Father, please hold my hand to continue walking in uprightness before You all my life.
Declarations
I declare that my heavenly Father is righteous and so am I. I declare by the grace of God that I shall continue to walk in my uprightness before Him and before all men. My testimony shall continually point to the fact that I am a new person in Christ. Evil in any forms shall be out of my life and I shall continue to walk in the righteousness of God in the name of Jesus.

The recent public outburst on the issue of the gays and the lesbians has really called for me to pen down these few words of mine.
I have listened to many people who are in top positions supporting them and others speaking highly against them. One thing that drew my attention was the rate at which people were saying it is their right to do what they feel like doing. Wow..! Do you call this a right? When a human being has decided to do what animals do not do? We have a society with social norms that we value, with *cultural* practices that we cherish. This right of gay and lesbian has never been part of it. If we sit and call such thing as right then it means that our society is dead. Our generation is dead and the human race will be in *extinction* years to come. But should we call everything *humans feel* like doing a right? If that is the case why do we have people in prisons ? Because am beginning to think that it is also their right to steal or ?
If we will sit and allow people from a land that has no ”manners" to decide what is right or left (wrong) to us, a day will come when human flesh would be sold in an open market since it would become people right to eat human flesh. Since it would become people's right to sell their children to slaughter houses for them to be used for food all in the name of right. How can we give so much attention to the human rights and forget so much about the human beings?
To God and country I write this, though I don't want to sound so biblical on this issue with *the* same practices that people are calling right in the story of Sodom and Gomora, I will like to look at what is written in the book of Colossians 2:8 amplified version of the Bible
“ _See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men's ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).”_
If I may *ask*, where were *these* right craving beings when *the same of such* people took our forefathers for animals and used them like donkeys... there are a lot of evidential truth that these people who are instigating these things as right *have* never and would never *like* us as Africans and they would do whatever they can to ruin our lives and take our countries and send us back to mental slavery. The Bible *quote* above has warned us. So let's be mindful and do what is mindful.
