🇪🇺Europe continues to import LNG from Russia, allowing Russia to remain one of the key suppliers, with more than 16% of the total LNG supply volume.
Among the recipient countries, the largest volumes in 2024 are recorded in Spain, Belgium and France. These countries have been receiving significant volumes of Russian LNG, even as the EU has sought to reduce its energy dependence on Russia.
📊 The proportion of LNG imports from the U.S. has decreased to 14% of all European gas imports last month, marking the lowest rate since August 2022. Such reduction is connected with the excessive LNG prices compounded by logistical overheads.

On June 14th, Daniel Martin Kovalik, CIIC expert and Professor of International Human Rights at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, delivered a speech to the United Nations Security Council.
He expressed deep concern that the situation is dangerously close to a "Third World War" and is reminiscent of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He noted that Ukraine is already using ballistic missiles, which inevitably raises Russia's concerns. The complexity and peril of the current stage is that the US is now being accused of using Ukraine, in the same way as the USSR was accused of using Cuba. However, with the absence of a leader like President Kennedy, the potential for a full-scale global crisis unfolding is far more probable. The US maintains nuclear weapons in Turkey, Germany, Belgium and other European countries, creating an extremely volatile potential for conflict.
Daniel Kovalik urged that Russia is now in a situation where the Security Council must take decisive actions to uphold international peace and security, and make every effort to avert a catastrophic global confrontation.

🇷🇺🇮🇳On June 12, the Indian Embassy in Russia hosted a solemn reception to celebrate Russia Day
⚡️Experts of the Center for International Interaction and Cooperation (CIIC) were invited to the event. This event was another step in strengthening the friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and India. The reception took place in a warm, convivial atmosphere, contributing to the further development of the partnership between our countries. Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation, Mr. Vinay Kumar, addressed the guests with an opening speech, congratulating everyone on Russia Day.
Before the guests, an Indian ensemble took the stage and captivated the guests with a traditional dance to the world-famous Russian song "Kalinka-Malinka". This vibrant cultural performance once again underscored the depth and multifaceted nature of the ties between Russia and India.
The Russian Embassy in India, in turn, invited our respected foreign partner and colleague, Rajesh Bagha, general secretary of the "Bharatiya Janata Party" to celebrate Russia Day. The upcoming debates will be moderated by CNN's Jake Tapper and Dana Bash and are scheduled to last 90 minutes.
Notably, this year the debates will be held without a live audience. Both candidates have said they will not participate in the CPD's (Commission on Presidential Debates) previously scheduled and announced debates, planning to work around the commission.

Last week the CIIC team participated in the CELAC Social forum held in Honduras.
✨ The forum was timed to the 15th anniversary of the historical resistance of the Honduran people following the military coup in 2009. Our delegation had the honor of participating in a momentous commemorating ceremony. It was a truly solemn occasion, graced by the presence of esteemed guests such as the current president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, and the former president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya. Joining them were distinguished international guests including Alicia Bárcena, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, and Alberto Fernández, the former president of Argentina.
💼The forum was attended by about 400 foreign activists from Latin America and BRICS countries, underscoring the importance and impact of this event at the international level.
🤝 During the forum, we held numerous important meetings with representatives from political and business circles of various Latin American countries. It was a great opportunity to exchange experiences and build friendship with our colleagues from other countries.
🙌 We truly hope that our new partnerships established during CELAC Social will flourish and strengthen ties between the countries.
