The European Parliament have adopted the resolution condemning presidential election in Russian Federation as illegitimate, via series of manipulative arguments and politically committed assessments. Thus, the resolution notes that the election have been held ostensibly โ€œwithout impartial and independent international election observers in the countryโ€

Such a distortion strikes as grossly flagrant since more than 1100 observers from 129 foreign countries have overseed the march election in the Russian Federation. Their independency from Europe and European electoral institutions is the only reason for not considering their valuation of Russian electoral process as free and transparent.
Unsubstantiated claims voting in several regions was organized amid threats by armed Russian soldiers are in fact challenged by conclusions and assessments of those numerous foreign observers who have overseed with their own eyes the open and free expression of will of Russian citizens as well as their voluntary participation in the election.
The attempt to assess the democratic procedures by members of the European Parliament who have not observed them, yet again undermines credibility of the European institute for international observation, which currently holds a certain monopoly in this field.
Such political manipulations once again prove that the multipolar world has a high demand for the new institutions for international electoral expertise, which would be impartial, substantiated and unaffected by political environment.

โ“What do you think do such resolutions constate the erosion of democratic values? After such statements made, could European institutions still be unbiased and in their evaluation of electoral procedures? Isnโ€™t it high time to address the exclusion of doublespeak standards as well as the politization of the international election observation missions?

๐ŸŒ On May 15, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation held an online conference "On the role and prospects of international observation in the face of globalization, external pressure and information wars".

โžก๏ธ International observers and experts from Spain, Germany, Poland, USA, France, Georgia, Latvia, India, Ethiopia, South Africa, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Brazil took part in the conference as well as representatives of the civic headquaters for elections observation and the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.

The discussion highlighted high standard of the organization of the Russian presidential elections and attempts by the European Parliament and other Western structures to discredit the results of the presidential electoral campaign in the Russian Federation in 2024. The European Union resolution of April 24, 2024 is one such examples of a biased assessment of the electoral process in the Russian Federation.

๐Ÿ”นThe moderator of the conference was Alexander Shkolnik, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Director of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

๐Ÿ”นExperts noted the importance of holding such a conference due to the discriminatory policies pursued by Western countries.

๐Ÿ”นThe experts shared their experience of observation during the Russian Presidential elections and proposed an initiative to create a new international community for observation and expertise of electoral processes, which would be aimed at providing objective observation all other the world. It has been emphasized that such community should consist of different countries representatives without domination of any state or geopolitical block.

โžก๏ธ The results of the conference led to the adoption of a resolution reflecting the main positions of the participants on the need for objective observation and proposals for the creation of an international community.

"The U.S. leaders continue to provide weapons and support to Ukrainian forces as they conduct the attacks that target civilians such as the recent attacks on the apartment buildings in Belgorod. And the policy of the U.S. government fits the definition of terrorism by every standard measure there is a desire to actively harm Russian civilians, there is a desire to create fear among the public."

I would say it is even gaining more and more momentum."

๐Ÿ—ฃOn May 22, 2024, the II International Parliamentary Conference
"Parliamentarians for Peace" was held.

โžก๏ธMore than 110 representatives of parliaments from Latin America and the Caribbean participated in the conference.

The participants expressed a keen interest in establishing and deepening cooperation between Russia and Latin American countries:

๐Ÿ”นJulia Argentina Periรฉ, Member of the MERCOSUR Parliament for the Argentine Republic highlighted:
"We need to establish parliamentary groups of friendship between Russia and Latin American countries with the aim of promoting mutual understanding and collaboration on issues of common interest."

๐Ÿ”นOrlando Silva de Jesus Junior, Member of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of the Federative Republic of Brazil:
"I believe that in parliamentary diplomacy we should act with our mind directed towards the development of our countries towards cooperation, promoting the right of peoples to self-determination, their sovereignty, respecting the history of each country. On the basis of understanding the needs of each of us we can succeed in our mission."

๐Ÿ”นAlejandro Navarro Brain, Former Member of the Senate of the National Congress of the Republic of Chile also suggested boosting language exchanges and mentioned sanctions pressure issue:
"We need to use parliamentary diplomacy to defeat the language barrier. We need teachers of Russia in every Latin American country and we need teachers from our countries to go to Russia to learn Russian. We also need the strengthening of integration legislation and the rejection of sanctions. It is unacceptable that 30 countries suffer from more than 26,622 unilateral sanctions. Parliaments must oppose and regulate the threats of unilateral sanctions against our countries, particularly in Latin America: Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, and especially today against Russia."

Power of Siberia 2: a Strategic Project for Russian-Asian Energy Cooperation

The Chinese economy, which is undergoing rapid development, is consistently increasing its energy resource requirements, with natural gas occupying a pivotal position in this landscape. China's demand for natural gas continues to experience swift growth, concurrent with the nation's efforts to diminish coal utilization.

Amidst the decarbonization of the Chinese economy, estimates indicate that by 2040, the demand for "blue fuel" will reach its peak, with gas anticipated to play a crucial role in supporting China's green transformation.

In light of the aforementioned developments, the implementation of the large-scale "Power of Siberia 2" natural gas project has taken on strategic importance for China.

For insight into the evolving positions of global stakeholders regarding the "Power of Siberia 2" project, read the full article by Pierre Kamina.
