Tips for IELTS Speaking Part 2
1. Make notes before you talk
The examiner will give you one minute to prepare your talk. You should write down some notes. Write down a list of words related to what you want to say, or draw a mind map. If you have to think about what to say when you’re talking, you will not be able to think about your language, so you are more likely to make grammatical mistakes. It’s also very common for candidates to panic when they are talking, and forget what to say; if you have notes, you won’t forget what to say if you panic.
2. Memorise a good opener
Starting your talk is difficult, so memorise an opening phrase.
Here are some good examples:
“I’d like to talk about…”
“Well, there are many _ I could talk about, but I suppose the __ I’ve experienced/had is/was….”
(The second example will help you get a better score than the others because the language is more advanced, but use the first example if the second sentence is too difficult to remember.)
For example, if your topic is “describe your favourite teacher”, you could say:
“I’d like to talk about my favourite teacher.”
“Well, there are many good teachers who I could talk about, but I suppose the favourite teacher I’ve had was…”
3. Paraphrase the topic
When referring to the topic, don’t use the words from the topic card. Instead, use your own words. This is called paraphrasing.
So, if the topic is “describe a beautiful place to visit in your country” don’t say:
“I’m going to describe a beautiful place to visit in Uzbekistan.”
Instead, say, for example:
“I’m going to talk about a stunning destination, which people can travel to in the north-east of Uzbekistan.”
Paraphrasing lets you show the examiner how much vocabulary and grammar you know. In the paraphrase above, I changed “place” to “destination” and changed the adjective “beautiful” to “stunning“. I also used a relative clause “which people can travel to…”. I also added in some extra information: “the north-east of Uzbekistan.”
Remember, together, grammar and vocabulary make up 50% of your marks, so it is very important to use a wide range of grammar and vocabulary.

✅Q: Water consumption
The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water
consumption in two different countries.
💡 Answer:
The charts compare the amount of water used for agriculture, industry and homes around the world, and water use in Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
It is clear that global water needs rose significantly between 1900 and 2000, and that agriculture accounted for the largest proportion of water used. We can also see that water consumption was considerably higher in Brazil than in the Congo.
In 1900, around 500km³ of water was used by the agriculture sector worldwide. The figures for industrial and domestic water consumption stood at around one fifth of that amount. By 2000, global water use for agriculture had increased to around 3000km³, industrial water use had risen to just under half that amount, and domestic consumption had reached approximately 500km³.
In the year 2000, the populations of Brazil and the Congo were 176 million and 5.2 million respectively. Water consumption per person in Brazil, at 359m³, was much higher than that in the Congo, at only 8m³, and this could be explained by the fact that Brazil had 265 times more irrigated land.

🇺🇿Speaking Part 2 in Uzbekistan
🔸Describe a type of weather you like
You should say:
what kind of weather it is
when this weather usually occurs
what you usually do during this weather
And explain why you like this type of weather
Weather is a short-term atmospheric condition. It keeps changing every now and then. We enjoy many types of weather in Uzbekistan. We have hot weather in summers and cool weather in winters. The weather in spring and autumn is generally pleasant. The weather I am going to talk about here is the pleasant weather we have during the spring, that is March and the beginning of April. This is a very welcome weather because it brings great relief from the intense cold of winters. The flowers are in full bloom everywhere, and you can hear the happy chirping of the birds. Spring season gives you a reason to smile. It infuses colour in your life. The spring season is important for farmers. Crops ripen in the fields. Farmers store wheat and barley at home. Everybody feels a sense of joy and happiness. Besides, spring is a season of festivals such as Navruz. Navruz is a festival of cooking and playing national games. I enjoy it the most. Navruz adds to the glory of the spring season. Days and nights are neither too long nor too short. I hate the cold wind of winter. I do not like the hot sun of summer. I dislike mud and dirt caused by the rains. So spring is my favorite season, and its weather is my favourite weather.
