Here's how Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Hardware level Privacy Protection works
One set of privacy pixels and one set of non-privacy pixels. They are arranged in a 1:1 staggered ratio, with different viewing angles. In daily use, all pixels are lit for flagship-quality display. When privacy mode is enabled, only the privacy pixels are illuminated, providing privacy when viewed from the side.
Speaking of display quality, Privacy screen protectors using micro-blind technology can compromise screen brightness and image quality, causing eye strain. Xiaomi's privacy screen, on the other hand, uses a native hardware solution and, thanks to SuperPixel technology, each pixel has complete RGB sub-pixels regardless of whether privacy is enabled, resulting in a clear and sharp display.
