How to bring "eternal spring" into a small apartment — affordably

Svetlana Konkova and Ekaterina Malinovskaya from Bilbao Design created a budget-friendly interior for a 65 sqm Euro two-bedroom apartment. They relied on simple base finishes paired with bold, contrasting details. Since there was no need for multiple rooms, the layout stayed open and functional.

The kitchen was meant to blend into the living area without drawing too much attention. The solution? A custom wall niche housing the refrigerator, oven, and microwave. The partition was carefully designed to preserve natural light flowing in through two large windows facing the Volga River.

Laminate color shapes your room’s mood and style. It’s not just practical—it transforms space, light, and atmosphere.

Light shades (white, light gray, oak, ash) make rooms feel bigger and brighter—ideal for small or north-facing spaces. They create a clean, serene vibe, perfect for Scandinavian, minimalist, or contemporary styles.

Dark tones (wenge, walnut, smoked oak, black) add elegance, warmth, and depth. They give a premium feel and hide dust, though light debris may show. Best for cozy, intimate settings in classic, loft, or high-tech interiors.

Neutral options (beige, golden oak, rustic finishes) are highly versatile. They blend with any decor, offering a warm, welcoming feel that suits nearly any style.

Golden rule: Use contrast. Pair light furniture with a darker floor to ground the space. Match dark furniture with a lighter floor to lift it visually.

A 39 m² apartment with a workspace in the hallway and a "mobile" kitchen

Interior designer Natalia Trifonova transformed a compact one-bedroom flat for a young couple. The apartment came with a builder's finish, so the challenge was to incorporate existing flooring and bathroom tiles into the new design.

With a limited budget, the team opted for a bold color palette to add depth and character to the space.

👌 Hide tech in a sleek sliding drawer — keep your home stylish and clutter-free.

Cables, routers, set-top boxes, and power strips can ruin a polished interior. A pull-out drawer keeps them hidden yet accessible.

Why it works:
- Visual cleanliness: Gear stays out of sight, blending into kitchen, living room, or office.
- Easy access: No more crawling behind furniture — just slide open when needed.
- Proper ventilation: Built-in vents prevent overheating, protecting devices.
- Added safety: Less dust, safer sockets — ideal with kids or pets.

Great for:
- Kitchen: Hide routers, chargers, or small appliances.
- Living room: Store streaming devices, gaming consoles, or receivers.
- Home office: Tuck away PC towers, printers, or power strips.

Upgrade your space with smart, minimalist tech storage. #SmartHome #MinimalistDesign #HomeOrganization

A cozy log cabin with Scandi soul, loft accents, and vintage charm

Maria and her husband, together with her parents, built this house entirely by themselves. The family dreamed of a two-story layout—on the first floor, an open-plan living area centered around a wall-free kitchen.

They started with a standard sauna-house design, but completely reworked the plans, even adjusting the layout during construction.

3-bedroom apartment, 90 m², with brick walls in Minsk

The flat belongs to a young IT professional who asked designer Anastasia Yakovleva to create a space perfect for hangouts and board games. He wanted an unusual interior—something visually striking, with details that grab your attention.

Open to bold ideas, the client gave the designer full creative freedom. Her response: exposed brick walls, a green kitchen, and a bed positioned window-side with the headboard facing the glazing.
