The Comfort Zone - Keys to Your Chess Success
By Daniel Gormally

I’ve become increasingly convinced of this comfort zone theory to the degree where I’ve started to apply it to chess. To use the same logic, I believe a chess player is more comfortable in an opening that they have played since childhood. They’ll be less likely to make mistakes in that opening. You can also apply it to tournaments as well. During the course of the book, I’ll talk about the tournaments that I felt comfortable in, and by the same token the opponents that I felt comfortable facing and the ones that I didn’t feel so happy to play.

Attacking 1...d5

By Kiril Georgiev

This book considers a gambit treatment of the Slav and the Semi-Slav. White offers the c4-pawn in order to get a space advantage and a long-term initiative. It also covers the Closed Catalan and the modern line 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Nf3 Be7 5.g3 0-0 6.Bg2 dxc4 7.Ne5. The author’s idea is to throw 1...d5 players off their comfort zone by dragging them into sharp unbalanced positions.
If you are fed up with all the mainstream Slav/Meran theory out-there, this book will offer you new refreshing approaches for both sides. Grandmaster Kiril Georgiev has been one of the strongest Bulgarian players for many years. He was a Junior World Champion and a bronze medalist in Europe. Kiril wrote the books The Sharpest Sicilian, Squeezing the Gambits, Fighting the London System and The Modern English.

Pieces, Pawns and Squares
by Adrian Mikhalchishin

It is known that pieces are more difficult to handle than pawns - but sometimes they can help each other, e.g. if it is about conquering a square! But what to do once you have gained control over it? How can the advantage of the new stronghold be exploited? All this and much more is shown on this DVD. Special attention is paid to the technique of piece transfer which helps to coordinate different attacks much more effectively. Treated themes: how to create weaknesses, how to conquer and exploit important squares, the powerful helping pawn, piece transfer to strongholds, coordination in the attack.

Understanding Material Imbalances by Svitlana Demchenko

One of the first lessons we are taught in the beginning of our chess journey is how much every piece on the board is β€œworth”. However, the more we master the game, the more we realize that the β€œtrue” value of pieces can differ from their theoretical value, depending on the subtleties of the position. When faced with material imbalances, it can be challenging to come to a correct evaluation and decide which plans to pursue. This DVD focuses on several types of material imbalances, such as Rook vs 2 Minor Pieces, Queen vs 2 Rooks, and Queen vs Pieces. In this series, you will learn some general guidelines.
