Rare lines in the Anti-Sicilians. Don’t want to go for the popular Anti-Sicilians such as the Alapin, Moscow, Rossolimo, or the Smith-Morra Gambit? No worries. You learn rare sidelines too, for example, 2.b3.
6.N1c3 blown out of the water! Dubov’s opponent made the mistake of playing 6.N1c3 and fell prey to Black’s a6-b5 pushback. Learn how Dubov pressured White into sacrificing one pawn after another and end up losing the game.
White’s 3.Bb5 punished. The move wants to capitalize on the White knight being on g1—and prepare for a kingside expansion with f2-f4. Not so fast, homeboy! See how Black can literally bring the sting out for a quick kill like Aronian in a 2016 match against Luldachev.
The Sicilian Defense is easily one of the hardest openings to master—especially when you are playing an “open” line like the Kalashnikov!
It has a 62.2% win (or draw) rate against White.

The Comfort Zone - Keys to Your Chess Success

I’ve become increasingly convinced of this comfort zone theory to the degree where I’ve started to apply it to chess. To use the same logic, I believe a chess player is more comfortable in an opening that they have played since childhood. They’ll be less likely to make mistakes in that opening. You can also apply it to tournaments as well. During the course of the book, I’ll talk about the tournaments that I felt comfortable in, and by the same token the opponents that I felt comfortable facing and the ones that I didn’t feel so happy to play.

The Fritz Powerbook 2022 contains 25 millions opening positions, derived from 1.7 million high class tournament games. Together with each position all relevant information is stored: all moves that were played in the position, by players of what average rating, with what success and performance results. The games from which the Fritz Powerbook 2022 were derived (except the Corr Games) are also included on the DVD or download version. The Fritz Powerbook 2022 represents the state of the art of current openings theory. The FritzPowerbook was derived also from the best 100,000 games from the Correspondence 2022 Database to enhance even more the theoretical value of moves given by the book.
