ESTÊVÃO WITH THE GOAL ON HIS BIRTHDAY!!!! 🎉
🇧🇷🚨 | 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐞̂𝐯𝐚̃𝐨 (𝟏𝟖) vomited during the Palmeiras game and had to leave at the minute 59

The game took place in Bolivia at an altitude of 3650m.

“It took me a while to get used to it and unfortunately I couldn't continue. It was really down to the altitude. It's surreal here”

‼️The signing of a central defender depends on exits and the club have to fund the purchase of a striker and a right-footed winger too. There are two questions to answer on the issue: why Chelsea are pursuing another player in this position at all and what are the ramifications for those centre-backs at the club?

Should another arrive, it will mean Chelsea could field a first XI with just centre-halves — and that does not include those being developed with the under-21s. Already on the the roster for 2025-26 are: Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi, Trevoh Chalobah, Josh Acheampong, Renato Veiga, Aaron Anselmino and Mamadou Sarr.

‼️Chelsea’s history of selling academy players for large fees to register pure profit on the books means some fans may be wondering if cashing in on Colwill has come into their thinking. Chelsea have ignored strong interest from clubs in the Premier League and abroad before. He is still being monitored by many teams. But sources, speaking anonymously to The Athletic to protect relationships, insist the England international is not for sale.

‼️Chalobah is going to be a different story because Chelsea tried to sell the academy graduate last summer. They had to settle for a loan to Crystal Palace before recalling him in January due to Fofana suffering a severe hamstring injury in December. He has played 27 times (for both teams) this season, so that will help Chelsea’s chances of receiving a decent permanent fee. Chalobah, who is 26 in July, will want to continue playing regularly and join a leading club.

Two others expected to be in the outgoing column are Disasi and Veiga.

‼️There are no fears over another homegrown asset in Acheampong. Maresca admitted this month that he ‘loves’ Acheampong and there is no desire for him to go anywhere, even on loan. The 18-year-old, who was officially promoted from the under-21s in December, is seen as someone that can provide cover at right-back and in midfield.

‼️Badiashile is another earmarked in the ‘stay’ category, but there is a more of a question mark over Tosin and whether he is content with a back-up role. He started 78 Premier League games for Fulham between 2020-24, but has just 13 starts for Chelsea following his free transfer from Craven Cottage last summer. The 27-year-old is respected for being one of the few natural leaders in the dressing room.

‼️Chelsea signed Anselmino from Boca Juniors for £17million in August. He is 20 next week (April 29) and one for the future. Anselmino spent the rest of last year loaned back to Boca before being given time to adapt to Chelsea’s Cobham training base and living abroad in England, without the pressure of senior football, since January. He will be loaned out next season and there is interest from Champions League and Europa League clubs.

‼️Sarr was bought from Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg for €14m in January in view of him joining Chelsea this summer. But with Strasbourg just four points off second place in Ligue 1 and on course to qualify for Europe, Chelsea are thinking about him staying on loan for a season so he can develop further.

Why are we planning on keeping Badiashile?
🗣 Graeme Bailey: "Having spoken to Bournemouth sources, they reiterated that they see him most likely staying in the Premier League and from what they believe, the favourites for him are Liverpool, not to discount Chelsea or even Arsenal or Newcastle, but Liverpool are pushing hard."

Dortmund boss Niko Kovac on Chukwuemeka:

“Carney will return to Chelsea first. What happens after that is still up in the air. It’s clear that he has qualities and that I like him, that we all like him. But Chelsea are smart enough to structure the process in such a way that they will benefit from it.”

🗣 Enzo Maresca on Gusto: "Malo is injured but it does not look like an important injury. He is running and doing things outside but he won't be available for tomorrow."

🗣 Enzo Maresca: "Hopefully, Marc Guiu can be back in one or two weeks."
🗣 Enzo Maresca on Lavia: "He is back, training with us. With Romeo, we are trying the same thing we are trying with Reece James. We need to use them step by step. With Reece it is working quite well."
