Texas Manager Invested $18.5M of Client Funds in Crypto Lending — and Got Hit by SEC 🚨

A Texas investment manager, Khalid Parekh, has been accused of false promises and illegally investing $18.5 millionof clients' money into cryptocurrencies. The SEC reported that Parekh and his firm Fair Invest offered investments in line with Sharia principles (no earnings from debt!). In reality, the funds were diverted to two crypto lending platforms💸, used for short-term loans.
From August 2021 to August 2022, 373 investors from 40 U.S. states, mainly from the Muslim community, entrusted Parekh with their money. Fair Invest lost its license, was ordered to return funds to clients with promised 4%, and fined $100,000.
Cryptocurrency and high-yield investments always come with a huge risk of scams. Quick money means risk ⚠️, don’t fall for "golden promises".

The SEC, of course, makes a nice profit off fraudsters, and it's clearly in their interest to keep them around 😉
