🚗 Tesla's Cybercab is under federal investigation days after launch
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a probe covering around 1,000 Cybercabs shortly after Tesla began commercial robotaxi service in Austin, Texas.
Tesla self-certified the vehicles as compliant with federal safety standards. NHTSA will now review that process and the underlying data — including which standards actually apply to a vehicle with no pedals, steering wheel or mirrors.
