U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs pulled in $225.8 million on Thursday — their strongest session since October 2025. Nine consecutive days of net inflows since August 17 have now totalled $1.42 billion.

For nearly 30 years, Tupac Shakur's 1996 killing was one of music's most notorious cold cases. A Las Vegas jury has now closed it.

Duane "Keffe D" Davis, 63, was found guilty of orchestrating the September 7 drive-by shooting — handing the murder weapon to the gunman, believed to be his own nephew. Jurors deliberated roughly 90 minutes.

The prosecution's case rested largely on Davis's own words: interviews, a BET docuseries, and a 2019 memoir describing that night in detail. The defense called confessions without corroboration insufficient. The jury disagreed.

Sentencing is set for October 13. Davis remains in custody without bail and, per Variety, plans to appeal.

💸 Crypto buybacks are moving from novelty to norm

🎮 Rockstar opens the taps

After 13 years of waiting and several delays, GTA 6 has a release date that finally looks real: November 19, 2026, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

A week after the 27-minute gameplay premiere, Rockstar dropped 99 more screenshots. Three are brand new — Jason and Lucia in a car, a shot-for-shot recreation of Miami's Two Tequesta Point condos in Vice City, and the pair looking down at someone who is, let's say, no longer a going concern.

A pre-order tab appeared in GTA Online, and Rockstar is reportedly in talks with Florida officials about a marketing rollout. The machine is moving.

🍎 Apple has a new CEO

John Ternus has officially taken over as Apple's chief executive, succeeding Tim Cook, who led the company for 15 years. Ternus previously served as Apple's senior VP of Hardware Engineering.

In his first memo to staff, Ternus said the company has "a huge launch next week that's going to be phenomenal," according to Bloomberg. The launch in question is Apple's annual iPhone event on September 9, expected to include the company's first foldable iPhone and a broader rollout of the redesigned Siri.

Cook, in a farewell note to employees, called Ternus "brilliant and wonderful and capable" and said few people understand what it takes to build world-changing products the way Ternus does.

Also in Apple's pipeline: camera-equipped AirPods, smart glasses, and a touchscreen laptop.

So apparently you'll soon be able to actually sleep inside a Pokéball in Japan. Not a themed room with Pokéball wallpaper — a literal spherical pod shaped like one, with a big round bed taking up most of the floor. There's even a window, IGN confirms.

It's a collab between Pokémon Sleep and luxury hospitality brand Not a Hotel. Details drop September 15th, same day the booking lottery opens — and yes, it's a lottery, because of course it is. The pod is up in Hokkaido, so factor in the flights.
