The Customer Care department is looking for experienced OutSystems developers for the following roles:
• OutSystems Unit Leader
• OutSystems Service Lead
• OutSystems Wingman

So, what is a Unit Leader and what does he do:

A Customer Care Unit Leader leads and manages a set of service delivery teams, supervising the execution of demands. Monitors the service queue and helps solve complex demands growing team expertise. Works with the Service Manager to maximize team productivity and plan delivery.

For this role we are looking for someone with:
• 5+ years as an OutSystems developer;
• Experience in customer-facing roles with key customers;
• Experience as a Squad Leader / Delivery Manager;
• Leadership skills;
• Able to identify and develop talent;
• Cross-functional expertise;
• Full-stack background;
• Availability to travel (occasionally);
• Written and oral fluency in English (Level B1+).
The position will be based in Lisbon or Recife.

And what about the Service Lead?

A Customer Care Service Lead acts very much like a Delivery Manager, monitoring the service queue, the service level agreements, and execution of demands. Assigns, coaches, solve or escalates demands. Working with the Unit Leader and Service Manager plans capacity and delivery to maximize team productivity.

• 4+ years as an OutSystems developer;
• Experience in application development and process design, and project delivery practices;
• Team leadership skills and coaching ability;

Finally, the Wingman.

The Wingman is an experienced developer that wants to be the next Service Lead. He will act as his shadow and backup.

And now, what’s like working in the Customer Care department?

Well, imagine a moving train with many wagons like our customers’ core systems. Many times this train runs smoothly but sometimes some wagons start to get in trouble. You are monitoring this train by helicopter and you realize that you need to jump out of the helicopter, land right into the train hotspots, find and fix any kind of problem and assure the train keeps moving on track, before checking out, back to the helicopter. This is us... on a good day.

We solve complex problems and most of the time we do it right in the production environment and we have a very limited time to do it. We don’t have safety nets and we are obliged to jump into the unknown to solve whatever is happening in an application that we didn’t develop.

We need you to be full-stack! If you are not there yet, we will help you get there. As the problem might be from anywhere on the entire ecosystem, we must understand what's under the hood so we have to put our hands on SQL, Database Administration, System Engineering, CSS, JavaScript… and so on.

Do you like to receive medals? Then Customer Care is not for you. We are not the US Marine Corps. We are the US Navy Seals. We get in, silently get things done, and get out.

A successful job is the one that lets the customer unaware of our presence.
Ever saw an active Navy Seal receiving a medal or appearing on the news? Nop...

We are responsible for entire core systems that drive customers’ business and we have to keep it running. If we have to put in the hours, we put it. But we also have some perks…
• Seeing how systems are built, how architects design complex systems and check solutions for complex patterns (or what mistakes were done) is a great way to learn a lot;
• Find how to solve technical challenges, fix blocking issues and ear our satisfied users say “you saved my day” is very rewarding;

Yes, we also have small development projects and some no brainer, basic stuff to do, but this is what lets us relax a bit!
