Southern blot is named after the British biologist Edwin Southern.
The name western blot is a play on the Southern blot

John Demers, Assistant Attorney General for National Security, leads the Attorney General’s China Initiative

观点

for the university there could be (advantage), i mean if it were transparent and open, for instance and if a professor were through a thousand talents program. ...... you know they could then have a better lab, right, a more so. they could get more sophisticated equipment. they could hire more teaching assistants more research assistants and you know help the university as well as themselves, right. and you know share some of that credit with the chinese university that was also helping to fund it. so i think there are advantages to universities in these collaborations

source
