前提提要是昨天是我项目的ddl，然后老板在看今年申请的人，非常多的人都把我系一个做structural biology的PI写到了interested prof栏目
我：Alpha go都做出来了，不应该越来越少的人想做structural bio了吗，感觉前景很被限制（并且这个PI主要还是做x-ray的
老板：Alpha go means nothing. There’s no way it can substitue structural bio
老板：所谓的AI/ML/or whatever, 他们被开发了50多年了，但他们做的事情就是找association,是的他们可以被trained，你也可以在一些特定的场景找到他的application，并且他可以become way faster than human。
老板：BUT, it didn’t tell you any underlying principle. 如果你想要了解一个事物一个想法是怎么generate的，你需要的是mechanism of operation而不是这些application。这些association comes from some components but they are not enough for the entire story.
我：但你也说，在特定的场景，它确实可以用于一些application，那么在structural bio里面，他的prediction是否也可以作为baseline or a reference来缓解一些不必要的labor
老板：并不是的。Algorithm分为provable algorithms 和 heuristic algorithms。而现下heuristic algorithm which is based on the preformance被ridiculously泛滥地使用。Yes, it may perform better seemingly but it’s not provable at all.
老板：The thing is if more and more responsibilities were about to be handled to the AI/ML/etc, the society will be in crisis.

今天做实验，时隔半年重拾cloning（因为实验室的cloning完全不work了最近），然后copy & paste了tech的protocol（我的太古早了懒得翻了），结果发现了tech做的时候的一些问题。
想了想要不要text她，但她马上就要去纽约了，我想还是等她回来跟她说好了
结果tech走之前就在刚刚来了lab拿东西
