What you need to know about Cellframe Node

In posts about the recent releases of Cellframe Dashboard and Cellframe Wallet, we often mention that a new version of Cellframe Node has been added to the build.

Today, we're going to explain exactly what Cellframe Node is.

It's important to understand that Cellframe Dashboard and Cellframe Wallet are graphical interfaces for the node. When you install one of these applications, you're launching a Cellframe blockchain node on your device, essentially connecting to our network.

All the necessary functionality for this is embedded in the code of the Cellframe Node, which has 2 main modules:

● DAP SDK - Low-level module
This is where the mechanisms for node interaction with memory, networks, and databases are defined.

● Cellframe SDK
It contains the mechanisms for the blockchain operation: consensus algorithms, transaction validation, and new block creation.

Ultimately, Cellframe Node is the "heart" of all our nodes, whose functionality we regularly update and enhance for the more efficient operation of all our applications.

βœ… A little earlier, together with the German project DeFiExpertise, we released a review video about our company. It has already gained 15K views in the space of a week, boosting subscriber numbers for our channel, as well as that of our friends.
βœ… We then decided that it was time to expand more proactively and so we sent a press release to the top thematic media company in Brazil. Currently, the Cellframe project has begun to enjoy a certain amount of popularity in that country.
βœ… The total social media coverage increased by 38%, and audience growth is around 19%. We believe that these are very positive numbers.
βœ… All our live content that used to remain behind the scenes is now available as stories on our Instagram and VK accounts. If you want to find out more about us, we are waiting for you on those social networks!

Cellframe is a quantum-resistant blockchain.

Now its protection is ensured by the use of post-quantum signatures recommended by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology of the US Department of Commerce).

Of course, this protection is not going to last forever; however, we constantly keep our finger on the pulse and work tirelessly to neutralize threats.

You can enhance the protection of your wallets by adding post-quantum encryption algorithms. Picnic and CRYSTALS-Dilithium signatures are currently available. The advantages of CRYSTALS-Dilithium are the following:

πŸ’Ž Simple to implement in existing systems due to its versatility
πŸ’Ž Small public key size (positively affects the speed of transactions in systems that use CD)
πŸ’Ž High level of signature reliability in the post-quantum future

πŸ’₯ We will soon implement Falcon and Sphincs+, which will be resistant to attacks from a quantum computer. Read about them in our forthcoming publications.

⚠️ A new version of Cellframe Dashboard is now available - 2.12-57.

πŸ’« We recommend downloading it to your devices now!

This build includes a new version of the Cellframe Node (5.2-299), which fixes the consensus process and introduces the ability to lock orders.
Prior to this, any order could be deleted by any user. Now, by default, only the order creator is able to do this.

In addition, we have improved the stability of the new version and significantly reduced the CPU load.

Regarding the transaction history display, everything will work correctly after installation of the new version of Cellframe Dashboard.

πŸ“Œ Please note: before installing the update, you need to uninstall the old version using the uninstaller.

● For Windows:
Run uninstall.exe, then delete the directory: C:\Users\Public\Documents\cellframe-node\var\lib\network and global_db
● For Linux:
Run sudo apt remove cellframe-dashboard, then delete the directory: /opt/cellframe-node/var/lib/network and global_db
● For MacOS:
Run cellframe-uninstaller

Following the successful launch of Mainnet, we have set a new major goal 🎯 - the launch of a Bidirectional bridge.

What is this and why is this project so important and global?
A Bidirectional bridge is a bridge between blockchain networks.
βœ… Its task is to connect external networks (Ethereum and BSC) with networks on our own Cellframe protocol - CF-20.

The bridge will operate in two directions: towards our networks on the CF-20 protocol, and vice versa - towards Ethereum and BSC networks.
So far, it has only functioned from Ethereum and BSC towards CF-20.

πŸ’₯ After the bridge goes live, users will be able to transfer tokens from CF-20 to external networks and vice versa, as well as having the ability to withdraw staking rewards or trade tokens on exchanges in other networks.

And yes, we will connect this protocol to already existing centralized exchangesπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

We are working on getting the gas price posted automatically.

After a recent change in Metamask policy, wallet owners now have to enter the gas price manually🀲🏻... but we decided "not on our staking site!"

It took us a while to figure out the situation and find a solution that would be as convenient as possible for our users. We are glad to say that we found it, and we are currently working on its implementation.

⚠️ This means that for our users the process of LP-tokens staking and unstaking will not change in any way.

All nodes in our blockchain run on the Cellframe Node engine. Together, they are responsible for the stability of the network ♻️

In terms of blockchain resilience, full nodes are most the most preferable option. A higher number of full nodes, or nodes with a higher tier in the blockchain, will result in more ledger verifications and fewer attack vectorsπŸ’₯

⚠️ However, despite this, we have no plans to abandon the role of a lightweight node. Moreover, we will soon be ready to offer our own option with atypical functionality. It will be a service node.

It will be designed for very simple devices, such as the Raspberry Nano. They are not able to handle the load of a full node, but they can still store minimal information about transactions and provide some basic services such as managing equipment or distributing VPNs πŸ“²
