The First Hardfork Has Been Successfully Implemented in Devnet SubZero! πŸ”₯

The hardfork mechanism allows for the redistribution of network load and significantly reduces data volume. It is especially important because it covers 70% of the work required to implement second-level sharding.

When the data volume reaches 10 GB, the hardfork is triggered automatically: the old chain is archived, and the shard nodes begin forming a new one.

The entire transaction history is moved to the archive, while only the current states remain in the main chain: balances, decrees, voting service data, and other key parameters.

If, at the moment of overflow, the number of nodes in the shard also increases sharply, a split occurs β€” the shard may bifurcate or even trifurcate.

In this case, node groups are divided into subgroups, and each begins building its own new chain. The hardfork plays a key role in allocating new shards: when one shard becomes full, it splits into two.
