A lot of rumours were circulated last two weeks for ongoing direct negotiations between USA & RF for end of the conflict in Ukraine.

What enhanced these thoughts last several days that we might be reaching peace?

🏁 the return of RF to grain deal
🏁 the secret meeting of Narishkin with Burns yesterday in Turkey that was revealed only after the fact
🏁 the articles signaling "time has come" for peace negotiations in Washington Post and New York times
🏁 the sudden withdrawal of RF soldiers from Kherson without a battle
🏁 the absense of strikes by RF to the energy infrastructure of Ukraine last 10 days
🏁 the multiple exchange of prisoners last week-s
🏁 the unexpected although short rise of the US stock market last week without any rational reason
🏁 the announcement that US and RF will organise a meeting to discuss a NEW START agreement for nuclear weapons before year end
🏁 the fact that positions of the two armies seem now more stabilised and river Dnieper is inbetween them (at least in Kherson)
However today's events & statements bring us again more far away than closer to a resolution. If a resolution was ever really on the table.

RF forces knew exactly where he is even before his arrival. And there was not even 1 missile fired in a region a few km distance from Russian forces.
The explanation given by Ukraine & Western media today was again that RF has ran out of missiles.....
Like this we will never manage to stop this war.!

Chinese leader tries to explain him that when acting like this there can be no trust. And if there is no trust there will be no conditions to have good bilateral relationships.
One would expect a prime minister to know this and respect other leaders.
