On Monday, Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro held a brief meeting with France's President Emmanuel Macron during COP27 conference.

Macron repeatedly stated he really wants to talk and enhance relationships.

This is good. This is the job of country leaders to talk and enhance bilateral relationships.

The relationships earlier were not great as French president and EU as a whole do consider Maduro as an autocratic dictator.

However now EU is in desperate need of energy alternatives to substitute Russian Oil.

When Trump got elected in USA, the democrats accused Russians of influencing the results.

Today in USA the midterm elections take place. The forecast for Democrats is not looking so great.
So tomorrow they might again accuse the Russians of influencing the result.

Only this time Russians are ready and they are trolling the Democrats..

The video shows an advertisement inviting Russian people to vote today for Biden in order for him to remain in power!

How? Just by opening the Russian government portal and clicking the button: "how to spoil elections of non-friendly countries πŸ˜‚"

Humor is really appreciated in these difficult times.

By the way every Russian who votes for US elections can win a balalaika or a racket or even a traditional hat from fur (for the cold winter ahead).

With rising energy costs driving the cost of living crisis, a new YouGov Political Research survey in UK provides a comprehensive view of the ways in which Britons have been trying to reduce their gas and electricity usage.

Overall, almost three-quarters of Britons (73%) say they have cut back on the amount they are using electric or gas devices at home.

61% have tried by reducing heating. 46% try by reducing lighting. Some try by reducing hot water usage.

How they are trying to save money and reduce heating expenses? 45% responded by wearing more clothes or using blankets inside the house.

And how they are trying to limit hot water usage? By taking shorter showers.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ China is upgrading its military capabilities.

Xi Jinping today inspected the Joint Operations Center of the Supreme Military Council wearing camouflage and ordered the military to increase its combat capability and strengthen the ability to "fight and win".

One of the decisions taken in China National conference in October was to have a strong decisive super modern army.

The USA and democrats provocations around Taiwan pushed China down this path. USA with their sanctions, their desired expansion in Asia and mainly their military contracts with Taiwan challenge the "one china" policy and force China to an arm race.

This is really unfortunate because for 70 years China has been a source of stability and peace. It has not engaged not even to one war and has not initiated not even one proxy war. On the contrary USA has initiated dozens of wars and proxy wars last 70 years.

All these money could go to peaceful development, education and technology instead of guns.

πŸ“India has become Russia's largest oil customer after China. Russian oil imports surged from 2% before Feb22 to an all-time high of 23% in Sep22. β€œIt is our obligation to ensure that the Indian consumer has the most advantageous terms to international markets,” Jaishankar said.

Barbados’ Prime Minister, Mia Mottley, delivered her speech yesterday at COP27 conference.

She attacked the Global North for failing to live up to its responsibility to compensate the Global South for the effects of the climate crisis which it did not cause. She also blaimed the big multinational private companies for NOT contributing to the global effort.

Our comment. There are 3 main reasons all the efforts to protect the planet fail:

1. Not all countries pollute equally. And not all of them are interested to reduce their pace of progress to protect the environment.

2. There is no clear mechanism to take into account the fact that some countries already polluted for decades and progressed. So some of these developed countries are now able to reduce their carbon footprint. But the developing countries are basically asked not to progress as much as the already developed countries did in the past.

3. Even when countries agree noone really imposes tough measures to private multinational giant companies.

πŸ‡«πŸ‡· Bruno Le Maire has been Minister of Economics and Finance since 2017.

"I think it's time for us Europeans to tell our American friends that we are very concerned about the Inflation Reduction Act and that it could cause the deindustrialization of Europe"

He has called for a "coordinated, strong and united" European response to the United States. Washington's policy is contrary to international trade & damages European industry.

France calls for lowering the price of US energy (mainly LNG) since it has doubled in France, while energy prices have remained stable in the United States and Asia.

The Minister assures that 10 billion euros in investments and thousands of jobs in the industry are at stake in France.

Finally a European politician who dares to speak the truth.

What will he do though?
