የበላይነት እና የመልካም አስተዳደር እጦት እንገነዘባለን፡፡
በሲዲጂ
በተዘጋጀው እና “ግጭት በሚያስከትላቸው ተግዳሮቶች እና ይህም በሰብአዊ መብቶች በሕግ የበላይነት እና መልካም አስተዳደር ላይ የሚፈጥረው
ጫና ከነመፍትሔዎቹ” በሚል መሰረተ ሀሳብ ላይ እየተካሄደ ባለው ምክክር ላይ እየተሳተፍኩ ነው፡፡ ዝግጅቱ በጉዳዮቹ ላይ ግንዛቤ
ለማሳደግ እና አስተዋጽኦ ለማበርከት የሚቻልባቸውን ዘዴዎች ለማመልከት የታሰበ ነው፡፡

Rule of Law and Good Governance
Those of us who are active users of the Social Media are undoubtedly aware of the situation of Human Rights, Rule of Law and Governance situation in the conflict affected areas of our communities.
I am attending “Dialogues on the Challenges of Conflict and its impact on Human Right, Rule of Law and Good Governance vis-à-vis the Way-out” organized by the CDG on January 12, 2024 @ Elilly Hotel. This Dialogue is intended to raise awareness and setting intervention mechanisms.
The information disseminated are genuinely neutral with focus on issues for objective presentation. There are no judgments at all.
The CDG is currently conducting online advocacy campaigns to contribute towards restoration of peace in Oromia Region and the country in general to enhance Human Right, Rule of Law and Good Governance.

Kanaafuu CDGn hordoftootni isaa mariilee dinqifatamoo guyyoota dhufan keessatti tamsaaman kana xiyyeffannoo itti kenanii akka hordofan waamicha dhiheessaaf.
CDG Conducted Dialogue among Social Media influencers 📢 🪧 🇪🇹
The Center for Development and Governance (CDG) conducted three round dialogues on Human Rights, Rule of Law and Good Governance among 80 youth Social Media (SM) influencers. The participants were drawn from relevant institutions of the Government, academy, media, and private citizens from across Oromia. The dialogues, which took place in Addis Ababa, last January, were conducted by a senior legal expert who briefly explained the concepts of the three issues. He emphasized that these issues are foundations for lasting peace and sustainable development. Intensive discussions were subsequently made by the participants on the topics. The outcome of the discussions helped draft possible way-outs and suggested the role of youth Social Media influencers in safeguarding Human Rights, Rule of Law and Good Governance.
The CDG has been actively involved in public awareness raising activities on the importance of peace in recent years. Specific focus is given to youth on the Social Media with the intention of directing their attention to positively influencing peace. The organization has compiled the dialogues outputs in the form of texts, footages and graphics illustrations. These would be disseminated via the different SM outlets over the coming one or two months. CDG, thus, calls for the attention of its followers to the outcomes of these fascinating dialogues in the coming days.

ሴንተር ፎር ዴቬሎፕመንት ኤንድ ገቨርናንስ (ሲዲጂ) በሰብአዊ መብቶች ፥ በሕግ የበላይነት እና መልካም አሰተዳደር ጉዳዮች ላይ ከ80 በላይ በሚሆኑ የማህበራዊ ሚዲያ ተጽእኖ ፈጣሪዎች መካከል ለሶስት ዙሮች ምክክር አካህዷል። የምክክሩ ተሳታፊዎች የተውጣጡት አግባብነት ካላቸው የተለያዩ የመንግሰት ተቋማት፥ ከከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት ፥ ከሚዲያ ተቋማትና የማበራዊ ሚዲያ አንቂዎች ግለሰቦች ነበሩ፡፡ በአዲስ አበባ ከተማ በጥር ወር የተካሄደው ምክክር በሶስቱ ጽንሰ ሀሳቦች ላይ የህግ ባለሙያ በሰጠው ማብራሪዎች መነሻ ነበር፡፡ ባለሙያው በማብራሪያዎቹ ሶስቱ ጉዳዮች ለዘላቂ ሰላም እና ልማት መሰረት መሆናቸውን በአንክሮ አስገንዝቧል፡፡ ከገለጻው በኋላ በነበረው የውይይት ጊዜ ተሳታፊዎቹ በርእሰ ጉዳዮቹ ላይ በንቃት ተሳተፏል፡፡ የውይይቱ ውጤቶችም የመፍትሔ አቅጣጫዎችን የጠቆሙና ሰብአዊ መብቶችን በማስፈን ፥ የሕግ የበላይነትን በማስከበር እና መልካም አሰተዳደር በማስፈን ረገድ የማህበራዊ ሚዲያ ተጽእኖ ፈጣሪዎች የሚኖራቸውን ሚና ያመላከተና ተሳታፊዎቹም በግላቸዉ የበኩላቸዉን ድርሻ ለመወጣት ቃል የገቡበት ነበር፡፡

Hirmaattotni Marii kana dhabbilee mootummaa, dhaabbilee barnootaa olaanoo, miidiyaa fi namoota dhuunfaa dibbaa midiaa hawaasaa irrattii gessisan kan Oromiyaa guutuu irraa walitti dhufan turan. mariiwwan ji’a Amajjii kana keessa Finfinnee keessatti gaggeffaman yaadrimee sadeen irratti ibsa gaggabaaboo ogeessi seeraa beekamaan kenne irra ka’uun ture. SM Influencers say “Peace is the Denominator”
“Peace is the denominator” said Social Media Influencers during the Dialogue on promotion of peace in online advocacy efforts set in motion by the Center for Development and Governance (CDG). Yes, peace is the denominator for Human Rights, Rule of Law and Good Governance, which means, they are inseparably interconnected to have lasting peace and sustainable development. The violation of one or the other invariably has impact on peace for the family, the neighborhood and for communities. When all the components (peace and the 3 elements) are fulfilled nationals enjoy safety and security in their day to day activities.
The CDG has come through some hiccups until recently in which there has been a look into what may have gone wrong in handling the online activities. According to a conclusion of an assessment done, what went wrong was inability to maintain the momentum of an increase in reaching more and more users of the SM. Maintaining the influencers on board while acquiring their valuable contribution was the gap to fill to gain effectiveness. Campaigns organized to create competition among the SM influencers and screening of documentaries on effects of the conflict created leverage to bring the influencers back on track.
The current Peace Dialogue is part of renewed opportunity created through enhanced scheme of online advocacy. It was organized on the urgent need for the restoration of peace given the heightened conflict here and there in the country. During this new year (2024) alone, the CDG conducted 3 rounds of discussion on the 3 issues for which Peace is the denominator.
The SM influencers aired their stance on the required components of peace in the online advocacy program under implementation for some years now. Besides the SM influencers, participants from pertinent government institutions (Communication, Judiciary, Academy…) and other entities joined the discussion in which they too shared experiences and stated their commitments to contribute their part for the needed rectification.
There was a moderator with ample experience and deep knowledge still vocal in the discussion who covered the sessions without faltering. He gave valuable briefs on the concepts and application of Human Rights, Rule of Law and Good Governance and how they are connected to each other while being instrumental to sustain peace. His presentation and other SM perspectives served as a startup for the discussion held among participants that culminated with the design on how to move forward with the online advocacy focusing on the young generation. The increased reach of the information online would expectedly raise public awareness on the one hand and help improve responsiveness of public servants on the other.
