Do stablecoins actually meet the definition of money? CCN asked the executives building the infrastructure.

The consensus: trust is the deciding variable, redemptions have to stay boring even under stress. The real test isn't adoption charts or volume, it's invisibility, and repeat use across payments, settlement, and treasury.

USDC just overtook USDT, now handling 67% of adjusted #stablecoin volume. 📊

Per Wu Blockchain, adjusted volume hit a record $1.79 trillion in June, up 63% from May. USDC on Ethereum alone processed $3.7T cumulative volume, ahead of USDT on Tron's $3.3T.

The shift traces to MiCA: USDT isn't compliant, USDC is, through Circle's Irish entity. Weekend transaction volume ($32.7B) also dwarfed weekday volume ($2.9B), a pattern that looks like real consumer spending.

#Bitcoin is up 8% this week, but $65,700-$65,800 is the wall bulls need to break. 🧱

BTC reclaimed $64K and trades above its 20-day EMA, with hourly charts showing bullish momentum. A daily close above $65,800 could open the path to $68K-$70K.

Risks remain though: stablecoin market cap shrank in June, whale-to-exchange transfers are rising, and Strategy just completed its largest-ever BTC sale ($216M).

989,000 wallets. $3.81 billion lost. That's the toll of the #TRUMP memecoin's 98% crash. 📉

Per Nansen data, the token soared past $75 after launch before collapsing to ~$1.65 today. Around 500,000 wallets did profit, roughly $4 billion combined, mostly bots and sophisticated traders who entered within seconds of launch.

Trump himself pocketed ~$636M regardless of price, per his own disclosure.

VanEck's Matthew Siegel says #Bitcoin beats its all-time high before 2028, if three things happen. 🔑

1⃣ Sovereign adoption keeps growing (22 countries now mine or hold BTC)
2⃣ The US moves on a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve
3⃣ Seller exhaustion continues (realized losses sit in the 90th percentile)

His advice: build your full position by October.

Bitcoin was trading near $81,000 the last time the #CLARITY Act cleared a Senate vote, back in May, and that's really the only real-world data point anyone has on what full passage might do to price. Citi and Standard Chartered are now modeling $143K-$150K if it passes, but the bill just missed its July 4 target and Senate odds have slid to 40-50% from 82% in February, with fights over Trump's crypto disclosure, a developer-protection clause, and a stablecoin-yield loophole all still unresolved.

Strike says your Bitcoin can survive an 80% crash without getting liquidated. 🛡️

- No margin calls, no forced sales
- Up to 14.2% APR, max 45% LTV
- Backed by a $2.1B credit facility with Tether

The fine print: "volatility-proof" isn't "payment-proof." Miss payments, and you can still lose your BTC.

#XRP right now: EGRAG Crypto says dip to $0.95 then new highs. Joao Wedson warns leveraged longs across BTC, ETH, XRP and SOL could cascade if support breaks.

The number nobody's arguing about: tokenized RWAs on the XRP Ledger hit $4B, up from $150M a year ago (per Whale Factor).

SpaceX just moved Bitcoin on-chain for the first time in six months. 👀

The transfer was tiny, about $88, a fraction of its ~18,700 BTC treasury (worth ~$1.8B, disclosed in SpaceX's pre-Nasdaq SEC filing). Arkham's Finn Grant called it a likely test transaction, the kind used to verify wallet access before larger moves.

Analyst Lark Davis separately warned Bitcoin could face more downside, citing rising Middle East tensions and BTC testing support near $61,500.

"Should Ethereum be a trillion or $2 trillion or a $5 trillion network value? I can easily see it in the next few years." — Tom Lee 💭

At $5T, ETH would be worth more than Microsoft or Nvidia today. Based on Ethereum's current ~$211B market cap and $1,752 price, that's 2,267% growth, implying a price near $41,500 per token.

Lee's case: decentralization, tokenization, and institutional maturity are all underpriced right now.

Europe's stablecoin industry has two regulatory frameworks, and it needs both, argues fintech consultant Miguel Zapatero. 🇪🇺

MiCA covers the tokens themselves, reserves, redemption rights, issuer licensing. PSD2 covers how money actually moves, payment initiation, merchant rails, account access. Treat them as competing systems, and you get gaps. Treat them as complementary, and stablecoins get a real path into everyday payments.

#Solana just cleared a descending trendline that had capped price since January. 📈

SOL is up ~9% over the past week, trading near $122, with the breakout confirmed by rising volume. Next resistance sits at $140, and a clean move above that could open the door toward $160-$170.

The setup is also tied to Bitcoin: SOL's breakout came alongside BTC reclaiming $108K.

Ripple just put XRP on a Division I jersey for the first time ever, a sponsorship deal with the University of Kansas Jayhawks.

Traders weren't celebrating. Many called it a distraction from price performance. Price opinions split too: some still see $21.50 as achievable, others warn of $0.29 if $1 breaks.

$1.4 billion in #Bitcoin options just expired. Some analysts warn it could add short-term volatility.

But the long game looks different: Standard Chartered holds its $500K target, Tom Lee says $2M is possible. CCN asked ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok too, all three came back bullish, with Claude even floating "mega growth" language.

Not everyone agrees on timing, but nobody in this piece is calling the top.

Per Wu Blockchain, Polymarket has applied for a US Futures Commission Merchant license, its first real step toward offering margin trading on prediction markets.

The filing puts it on similar regulatory footing to rival Kalshi, which secured its own FCM license earlier this year. But margin trading itself still needs separate CFTC approval before it can launch.

SWIFT just went live with a blockchain-based ledger, and it's aimed squarely at Tether and Circle.

17 banks across six continents, including Citi, HSBC, UBS and BNY, are piloting 24/7 tokenized settlement. It's a defensive move: traditional transfers take 3-5 days and cost 2-7% in fees, while stablecoins settle in minutes for a fraction of a percent.

The bigger question is BRICS. The bloc now represents 39% of global GDP, and SWIFT's speed upgrade doesn't solve the sanctions-exposure problem driving nations away from Western rails in the first place.

Jeremy Allaire just published a full treatise arguing AI and blockchain aren't separate trends, they're merging into one economy. 🤖

His framing: AI is the "operating system for intelligence," blockchain is the "operating system for the economy." Together, he sees autonomous agents holding wallets, signing contracts, and paying each other in stablecoins, no human required for the transaction itself.

Could one-person companies powered by AI agents become the norm?

Coinbase VC Ryan VanGrack says the #CLARITY Act is "on the one-yard line." 🏈

House just confirmed a hearing for Friday. Senator Lummis warns this momentum "will not come around again this decade."

Three fights still block it: Trump's $1.4B disclosure, a developer-liability clause law enforcement opposes, and stablecoin yield rules.

#Aave just launched Stable Vaults, letting businesses offer fixed-rate stablecoin yield without building DeFi infrastructure from scratch. 🏦

Price has reclaimed $90, with $97.75 the next resistance before the psychological $100 level. RSI sits near 60, MACD stays positive.

Derivatives activity remains cautious though, open interest is still below late-June levels.

Fidelity's Jurrien Timmer says #Bitcoin is nearing a key support level around $56,500 on his power law model. 📊

But the same chart cuts both ways: some traders argue it leaves room for a drop to $29,000, a 54% fall from current levels, in line with past bear-market drawdowns.

CryptoQuant flagged a similar bottom near $53,600 back in June, though demand remains "deeply unfavorable."

#XRP's weekly RSI just entered oversold territory for only the second time in its 12-year history. 📉➡️📈

Analyst Lark Davis says the first time preceded a ~1,100% rally. Repeat that from today's $1.07, and you get $12.84.

Forbes separately ranked XRP the 4th-best crypto investment, behind only Bitcoin, ETH, and BNB. Santiment says holders are sitting on the worst returns in XRP's history though.
