We want to give you a status update of our progress to the different protocol features and workflow in the Card Pay and Card Bridge protocol. Almost all of the smart contract and SDK work is complete and undergoing a second round of security audits this week.

We have created a new splash page that will allow newcomers to the Cardstack community to learn more about Card Pay, our first user-facing product launch. Our current website listing key information and platform technology will still be live but relocated to secondary pages.

After the launch of prepaid cards—which are based on stablecoins, we will add support for reward cards that contain community currency and other tokens not pegged to USD.

An issuer takes the supply of layer-2 fungible tokens and packages them into Prepaid Cards.

Customers can then buy those Prepaid Cards from the issuer, paying an additional small fee in exchange for these preloaded balances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-DheP-ExpU&t=1626s

There are three other groups of participants that are crucial to the operations of the Card Pay network—suppliers, issuers, and reward program administrators.

We reached a huge milestone by releasing the first beta launch of the Card Pay protocol, the Cardstack dApp, and the iOS Card Wallet.

These three components of software collaborate to create a layer 2 payment processing network that is fast, easy, and affordable. This network includes the core Card Pay protocol for payment processing and the Card Bridge protocol for layer 1 and layer 2 integration.

We will be releasing additional features, especially around UI components that expose already-deployed protocol such as merchant payment and prepaid card management capabilities.

Updates to the dApp will be deployed without user intervention, and updates to the iOS will be pushed periodically to TestFlight. We will also work on fixing bug reports. Lastly, we plan to invite more testers to expand the scope of user devices and experience levels.
